Surprised to hear that tiny Tom Carroll was the best singer at Swansea!
Maybe he also put in a good word for Spurs!

Have a count of the amount of times Bale starts a sentence with “yeah, no....”A rather impressive interview; in the space of 2 minutes I counted 8 times he said "you know" and 8 times he said "like I say". Fair play to the lad, that is some going and shows a real dedication to the footballer's craft
calculated risk to get back into top 4. without CL money/ stadium revenues for another season...shudder to thinkBale ain't cheap, and factor in wages for all da playas. And the lack of revenue from the stadium and the debts from the stadium and Levy going two transfer windows without spending a penny. Levy shelled out an un-Levy-like amount.

I (we) were talking pecking orders?
So if you're moving it along...the LCB search is partly with the intention of shifting Dier over to RCB, giving him every chance to come good.
FWIW I've heard Skriniar ain't got much pace about him.
I was agreeing with you about one of the reasons why Dier is preferred.
He ain’t quick but he is a genuine defenderI (we) were talking pecking orders?

Agree. That does appear to be the way in football with pundits and fans.He ain’t quick but he is a genuine defender
The only thing I’ll say about Skriniar is we have no idea how he would settle here
Players tend to get better rated when you don’t play them or have them... Grealish is now England’s saviour for example and Skriniar for I think that I am a better football fan than the rest of you is ours which is mental IMO
The guys a quality player but we may have just signed one in Rodon
Of all our signings he is the most unknown but arguably the one with the biggest point to prove
I wouldn't say a successor for Lloris is that urgent. This calendar year is probably the best he's played in a long time.
A successor will be needed in the next couple of years, but I would say a top-quality experienced CB is still the priority for the next transfer window or two.
Agree. That does appear to be the way in football with pundits and fans.
Think Jose is obviously looking for the 'die for the shirt' defender, and Dier obviously ticks that box, vocally and attitude wise, but as Jose's previous versions of this have shown, you have to be able to play the game as well. Rodon definitely looks in that mould, but of course the prem is a big step up.
Overall there is still an assessment to be made. Quality wise the jury is still out on Dier and Sanchez.
Dier has an advantage because Jose likes him and he is versatile. If another CB (Skriniar) comes in (Jan or summer) I can easily see Sanchez going next summer if he has another average (or up and down) season, as he is worth a decent fee. Toby (although slow) is experienced and has very little value so may as well be a 3rd 4th choice until his contract expires. Tanganga and Rodon are young so Toby can help them (along with Ledley) and hopefully they'll be another year along by next season and in the fight for a starting place.
Agree about Lloris' form, however need to remember that he turns 34 this year and our back-up isn't rock solid - means that if we get to the season when Hugo's form/ability drops, then it becomes a real problem. And a dodgy keeper is harder to mask over than an outfield position. personally I think it would be risky hanging on for a 2 years to get that successor in. Agree though that CB also very high, probably top, priority
Pau Lopez is available from RomaA decent young keeper would be on my list for next summer
Are any of the other new signings on big money? No argument that the £200k(ish) that we're paying Bale is a lot for us.

And hopefully Kyle Naughton won’t continue to be the best RB he’s ever played alongside for much longer!
Doherty Regulion and Hojberg must be on first team level wages you'd have to assume. Add Bale to that and the fact no big earners have departed then it's a considerable increase
