Jan Vertonghen

Think most are being harsh on both Jan and Toby. Of course they're not as good as previous years, that was a settled partnership in a settled side. Give them better protection from our midfield and their performances will improve. Only problem being our midfield is just not good enough this season.
 
Plus the fact that the style of football under Jose is more direct and less possession based meaning we give the ball back a lot more to the opposition leading to more defending.

Fair point i agree they do not get a lot of help from M/F, however they are struggling ( more often then not) to play at the level they used too.

Daley Blind looked good when he went back to Ajax, so Jan will be fine. He's still twice the player Blind ever was.
