Bowen Im not 100% sure on. Sort of have that feeling he might be a one hit wonder.

Had an amazing season, but apart from good work rate and a Lampard like ability to ghost into the box Im not sure he has an outstanding quality.

And, pretty sure Hull will want a lot of £££ for him.

Were he another £8.5m punt I would say go for it, chance are though he will be a fair bit more...
 
Early days for him, he has a lot to learn - only really a minimal amount of football to his name, so Im not sure Id expect much of him in the short term.

That said, he could well have replaced Lamela by seasons end if it goes well for him. Super sub, cup rotation...
 
Noel Whelan has delivered a scathing attack on Leeds United chairman Andrea Radrizzani for caving in to Tottenham and selling Jack Clarke for a “knockdown” price.

The ex-Leeds striker and lifelong fan is unhappy at the news, as first revealed by Football Insider early this morning, that Clarke is undergoing a Spurs medical after being granted permission by United to complete transfer worth £8.5million rising to a potential £12million.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Whelan claimed Radrizzani has been “way too soft” in negotiations with the Premier League giants and believes the fee should be far higher.

“If Leeds sell Clarke for £8.5-£10million, that shows weakness,” Whelan said. “We’re being soft yet again, when we need to be tough. We’ve gone down the route we went with Lewis Cook, who’s now worth three or four times what Bournemouth paid us for him.

“It’s desperate from Leeds, I’m afraid. £8m, £10m it’s a disgrace. We need to be stronger as a club than that. The chairman, Mr Radrizzani, needs to be stronger.

“You can’t blame the young man for having his head turned by Tottenham. They’re a big club who were in the Champions League final a month ago. Which Championship teenager wouldn’t be interested?

“I don’t want Leeds to be a selling club, I really don’t. I’m afraid Mr Radrizzani has let the fans down with this one. If he got £13m straight up, that would make a difference, as you can buy three quality players.”

Clarke is set to be confirmed as the first of a number of new signings by Tottenham, as well as the first departure from Leeds this summer.

Supporters will be hoping the club can hold on to their remaining key players as they step up plans to prepare for the new season.

To be honest, and hopefully without displaying a Spus bias - I dont think the deal is a bad one at all.

Its fair.

Clarke has potential, but that really is it right now. He has played barely half a season of pro football. A spell which started well but faltered. Thats it.

They have potentially £12m out of him, + whatever the add on amounts to down the line.

As a Championship club, for that player, thats surely not a bad deal?

I can well understand in the current climate of crazy transfer fees it might feel a bit short to some, but its the first Ive seen in a long time that actually just seems reasonable!

I loved teletext, waiting for the scores to change to page 2 each weekend. Waiting 8 or 9 pages usually to get to the team news that was always on one page for a whole weekend of fixtures. My all time favourite was when we got a tv that did mix, could kind of have teletext overlaid onto the tv picture - looked awful but gave me the best of both worlds.

Having to read the whole page in seconds before it moved on....

I think the best thing ever was when we got a TV you could effectively select/scroll the pages, that was just incredible...

“Clarke broke onto the scene late in 2018 for Leeds, with the Elland Road academy graduate bringing a fearless edge to the Whites’ attacking play heading towards the Christmas period.

“The 18-year-old’s ability to beat a man and counterattack gave Leeds’ attack a different dimension, and his impact over the months of December and January was particularly impressive, with goals and assists coming regularly in big games like Aston Villa away and Derby County at home.

“However, his form dipped following illness and a collapse at Middlesbrough, with Clarke never rediscovering the spark that made him such a hit at the turn of the year. In my eyes, that’s why Tottenham aren’t paying big bucks for the teenager and Leeds are letting him go for a rather modest fee.

“I’ve got my doubts about the immediate impact Clarke can have in a Tottenham shirt, but you’ve got to look at what Mauricio Pochettino has done in the past with players, with Dele Alli the prime example of an EFL talent flourishing under his management.

“For that reason I’m expecting Clarke to be a hit in North London, even if that takes 12-18 months. Pochettino will have to restore his confidence following his illness and drop in form, but in many ways that will make the move even more intriguing to watch.”
 
I suspect he has stood out to our scouts in youth games as well.

Would be interested to know how the coaches compare him with the young winger who scored the first goal at the new lane in the test event.

He was impressive but presumably clarke is ahead.
 
Eye tea kays all saying this one is done and dusted, signed sealed delivered and in the bag.

Guess we’re just awaiting the 57 minute IMAX video of the announcement to be scripted by Scorsese, filmed by Nolan and then to complete post production, before we can actually officially confirm it. As is the rage these days...
