I think there is some level of verification at first (you inform the staff where your info is from I guess), but once you're approved you can post whatever you want. Confirming breaking news stories and what other ITKs are saying seems to be the common way of maintaining your status.Vague stuff is even better as that engages the other posters. As long as certain other forums get their donations on the back of it I'm not sure they care.

I think there is a lot of truth in that, the problem is there is a supply and demand issue at play. Good quality ITK has been a scarcity for a number of years now, the only one of note is JJetset and even he barely posts these days. They must be really desperate over there when someone like Hercules can be ‘verified’ when this is blatantly a WUM. You can see a lot of posters on acknowledge it but can’t come out and say anything.
