Yeah, you need to stick that in them when they’re young - regardless. My son,10, enjoys playing football, but think watching it is boring as hell (I can sympathize) - but he’s got Spurs so ingrained in him he recently made the «something smells bad» gesture while pointing at someone in a scum shirt. I’m a proud dad.

It’s not really about being better at Spurs. Just feel disillusioned with football in general but more.
so with spurs. You don’t support spurs for the good times as they are not a guarantee. But for me I felt apart of community, friends, some banter and genuinely hope. I just think I’m getting more and more disconnected … is it an age thing?

6 years of dreadful football + VAR have really diminished things.

There have been dark times before. 1994-2004 was a similar period of decline and disappointment.

I still hold faith though, as 2014-19 was my favourite period ever, so it's probably a cyclical thing rather than a permanent wane.

Know what you mean. I have a Grandson who has just got into football at 6. Obviously Me and Mrs PW are Spurs fans while my future son-in-law is an Everton fan, and I said to him its a shame really because theres nothing down for the liitle un, Spurs or Everton?? What a choice?

And if he chooses to watch Rugby, Warrington....the Tottenham of the Rugby League!

There is a middle ground. You don't have to drag him to the game and subject him to the shouting and screaming and awful vibes. But you should buy him the gear and kits and make him know he is Spurs.
Otherwise he will be a City or Arse fan and you will have that wedge between you for the rest of your life. Every smarmy comment and sly smirk will annoy the hell out of you.

Throughout my lifetime supporting Spurs (almost 40 years), we’ve always had decent to world class forwards, even when the rest of the team was crap. I used to be a striker so I always focus on them, I’m sorry but this collection we have now (Solanke aside) is the biggest pile of dog brick I’ve seen my life that have played for us. They don’t have any flair nor do they excel at anything.

Frank seems like a good guy but I’m honestly sick of the sight of him on the sideline chewing and doesn’t seem to have a clue how to get us to score goals other than from set pieces. I wonder how he did such a good job at Brentford.

I might feel more connected when the owners eventually sell up. I’ve seen Levy’s name mentioned but it was one of the only good decisions we’ve made in recent times in getting rid of him.
