The odds on Marco Rose being our next manager have been slashed on BV

Marco Rose (born 11 September 1976) is a German professional football manager who was most recently the manager of RB Leipzig, and a former player who was a defender

Managerial style

Rose has described the basic ideas of his playing style as "emotionality, hunger and being active". "We want to be very active against the ball, sprint a lot. We want to win high balls and have short ways to the goal. We don't want to play high and wide, but fast, dynamic and actively forward."

He has stated his preference for a 4–4–2 diamond, saying "I've always played a diamond when I've had the opportunity to do it, bringing in two strikers. Our system, even when we play with all three up front, is something like a diamond." However he has also used 4–3–3 and 4–2–3–1 formations at Mönchengladbach.

Sebastian Hoeneß (born 12 May 1982) is a German professional football coach and former player. He is currently head coach for Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart.

Hoeneß played as an attacking midfielder, who spent the majority of his career with Hertha BSC II.

Upon becoming a manager, he spent two seasons in charge of TSG Hoffenheim before being appointed at Stuttgart in April 2023.

In the 2023–24 season, he led the club to a UEFA Champions League berth for the first time since the 2009–10 season by finishing second, the club's best performance since 2007.
In March 2025, he extended his contract with the club until 2028.

rewritten with AI sounds better

Rose has distilled his footballing ethos into three defining virtues: emotional fervour, unyielding appetite, and ceaseless endeavour. His vision is not merely of a team that plays, but of one that pulses with urgency and intent.

“We aspire to be indefatigable without the ball — to harry and hasten, to surge and to contest every aerial duel with authority. Our aim is to reclaim possession high up the pitch, thereby compressing the distance between recovery and reward. This is not a philosophy of indulgent width or languorous construction; it is a creed of incision and impetus — football played at full throttle, dynamic in spirit and unapologetically forward in thrust.”

so a joe lewis grandson told vinai and lange to sack TF, coz they didnt want to sack him

right, scramble time! so not a footballing person making footballing decisions as we all suspected since DL days

a bit of time before the NLD but we also have long term injuries e.g. odobert is out for the season, dunno when others are back neither did TF

we will need a miracle! eleven Archie Grays please - anybody got a clone machine and fast growth potion?

Where has this come from?

"Sprint a lot".

That worked well for Ange's first ten games, so maybe that's what we aim to replicate. We had 26 points after 12 games, which should put us at a respectable 55 points and a comfortable midtable finish.

Obviously there has been talk of Poch returning but with the problem of the world cup....

The Premier league finishes on 24 May and the world cup starts on 11 June and i had this thought yesterday...

Most world cup managers wont have their players for very long after the European season ends. So why cant he take over now , perhaps in ' a special advisory capacity' , with an agreement that as soon as he gets us statistically safe from relegation he goes back to his USA responsibilities and leaves his assistant in charge...

He could then formally take over after the world cup having already advised the board the players he wants to get rid of and the ones he wants to buy.....

Am I being naive about this and/or would contract obligations prevent it? I am prepared for being shot down in flames...

Anyway, my missus thinks it must be quite easy to take over Spurs now as we've only got 12 fit or available outfield players so no real tough decisions to make.....

COYS.

I find it impossible to believe that there hadn't been real thought into who could replace Frank well before he was actually sacked

The days passed since and no appointment made on an interim makes it at least seem somewhat likely that the club are trying for some long shot like what you suggest, or some other permanent manager we actually rate highly that would be difficult to get.

In a situation like this, would we want the club to try for that even if it could mean a more dragged out process if it fails or go for a quicker caretaker decision?
