Well the start of the second half was much better but I felt that the longer the half went on, the more cautious we got. I had noticed that we had all 11 players about 30 yards from our goal just before the second equaliser and we were doing that again just before we broke for the 4th goal. I think the media and pundits are going way overboard about how good we were in the second half; great for part of it but still too many times we were passing across the back four and defensive midfielders and the first thought was to go backwards. Liked Djed's attitude though.

Thought Tuchel got his subs spot on, and Spence was an excellent boost for England off the bench (unlucky not to score).
Yes, when we play in the heat it will be a different game for sure, however we have to be happy with this start, especially against one of the ranked 'stronger' teams (Croatia looked old in all honesty)...the defence needs to get it's head on for sure. The way James went walkies to the middle leaving his man so open reminded me of...errr...some of our defending???
 
Bellingham reminds me of Gerrard and Lampard types, great at club level but not creative enough on their own to take England to a trophy. Not sure why we didn't take at least one out of Wharton, Cole Palmer, or Morgan Gibbs White who at least may give us something other than just strong and Athletic.

I don't think he's a creative player at this stage of his career, he is a player who can do things in possession that none of our other players can do, beat players in dangerous areas, Saka and Madueke look like they may but they hold on to ball too long. His temperament is flaky and is a candidate for a red card but he can win a game.
There are 5/6 players in the squad I would never have taken but I think most fans feel that way.
 
The biggest surprise to me so far is that the players who in PL games I really like (Konsa, Anderson, Rogers, Rice) have looked so average. Mind you I seem to be in a minority of one in not getting the adoration of Bellingham so what do I know?

English players tend to be overrated.

that may well be the case but he's the best player England have, best engine, best work rate, best attitude, there is a reason he is the one playing at Madrid

the issue with the squad is how much average there is around him and Kane

Pickford and Stones are worth their place, but the other 22 could be easily replaced

not taking Foden was strange
