Looks more than likely now too
He's been excellent in this world cup.
How does that work? At the moment there are three captains left, two of whom are Spurs players. So that's 66%. Oooh, spooky ;-)There is a 75% chance that the world cup winning captain will be a Spurs player.
There is a part of Hugo Lloris that would have liked to stay up late, gripped, long into the night on Friday, two days before his first World Cup final. Lloris enjoys his tennis, you see, and his expert eye would have appreciated the suspense and athleticism that turned the Wimbledon men’s semi-final between Novak Djokovic and Rafa Nadal into an overnight saga.
Lloris once aspired to be there, commanding tramlines rather than goal-lines and using his broad reach and quick footwork to become the next Pete Sampras. He was a talented junior tennis player, thought to have genuine prospects of a professional career with a racket until well into his teens. He had access to the best facilities, too. As a kid growing up on the Cote D’Azur, not far from Monte Carlo, the son of a banker and a corporate lawyer, Lloris knew many privileges that most of his France teammates did not.
