With outgoings i'd say over £100m. Rodon, spence and royal look like they're gone that's about £40m alone.

Id say 150 mill, assuming we get about 40 mill in for our deadwood. That will get us 4 decent players or 2 very good players these days. If we get Eze, who is excellent i think then theres 60 to 70 gone straight away.
 
Reading reports that we've got fresh sponsorships, add to that revenue from and expanded Europa competition we should be in a better position to spend more.

Webb and Lange has had one season now, they should be able complete getting rid of the deadwood and no-hopers.

That said, there was a cash injection of gbp150m by the owners last season - was there an account of how this was used anywhere?

Only £100m has been issued so far. Guessing the other £50m will go on the hotel. We spent £250m on players in the last year. Recouping £100m.

As for sponsorships we've lost the cinch deal. So not any better off. Unless we get a new sleeve sponsor.

Also deadwood and no hopers is disrespectful. They are still our players.
 
By deadwood and no hopers I mean just that - players that have been frozen out of anges plans completely.

That's really just Spence, Rodon and Regullion then. The rest of our likely departures (Hojbjerg, Lo Celso, Royal, maybe Davies) he has been prepared to use where need be and have been good servants (GLC less so)

Agreed, and Kane for free (Academy), and Vicario for <£20M says nothing about the player quality

Long term the measurement is are we willing to refresh/improve squad, and are we willing to commit to competitive wages
 
If we continue spend ~£120m net per year and operate a wage bill of around 55% of turnover (for a season where we're in the Europa league - will naturally go up a bit if we miss europe and down a bit if we make CL) then we should be able to remain a competitive top 6 team for the foreseeable future with the chance of winning a couple of pots every decade. Providing of course we ensure that we keep a high quality team in place for scouting, recruitment and coaching.

What is our amortisation costs per season now?

It's just if 55% of turnover is wages. That leaves 15% for amortisation and agents fees. £75m from a £500m turnover. Or 10 players on 5 year contracts, that were bought for £37.5m. (Not including agents fees). The average cost of a player in the squad would have to be £15m.

That's not buying new. That's what we have.
