These are the kind of injuries that will lead to Kane dropping back to a number 10 role
I have always thought that is where he would end up.

Got everything to play thereI have always thought that is where he would end up.
If we're not going to qualify for the CL I sincerely hope we finish just below Europa qualification.I'd written off our season anyway before this - my expectation was that we'd finish somewhere between 6th and 10th. This just increases that probability. We really need to be planning for next season, or the season after, now. Start moving from the Poch era to a new one - it'll take some time to transition and we need to have patience over the next 18 months
To he fair to him I think he's just thinking of the club rather than himselfSpot the fans who don't go to away games
Europe > No Europe
Whilst I am pessimistic as I scramble for some cause for optimism I did just read that Owen did infer if he had an op he would have been as good as new!Ruptured tendon sounds extremely bad. That twitter video explaining the grades of hamstring tears said a small strain is fine, a small rip will heal, but a full snapping of one of the 3 muscles is much worse news... like Michael Owen, who had to run on 2 instead of 3 muscles for most of his later career.
The video also said it is better to hurt the muscle itself rather than the top or bottom where the muscle joins to the tendon and then the bone. So a tendon rupture sounds like very bad news to me.

Like it or not it’s a way into the CL and a trophy.
We want to be in it.
Since they added CL for the winners it’s become more attractive. Would take winning it over 4th any day.Like it or not it’s a way into the CL and a trophy.

If we don’t get it it should give us a massive advantage in the league the following season. If we do get it it should give more opportunities for what will hopefully be a bigger / deeper squad to become versed in Mourinho’s tactics and winning gamesYeah, I agree, however I fear that we wont make the EL places this year either.
I also dont think Jose will make the EL as much of a burden as Poch did. Only in the last year or so of our CL group games did Poch leave 1-2 senior players at home for away games. For the EL, I could see Jose taking just say 14 senior pros for away games and leaving the others at home to rest up for the following league game

"Getting that massive injury at Leeds has probably changed and shaped my whole career," Owen told the Telegraph in 2012. "Since I was 19, I’ve been compromised. If I did that now, it would be surgically repaired like it’s brand new. I wouldn’t even know I had an injury. Back then you just let it go.”
He also mentions how Houllier warned him about playing too much too young.
I also read into the athletic that Vardy at almost 33 apparently clocking better speeds than ever, perhaps due to his delayed entry into top flight football and a less intensive schedule?

In my view, expecting our squad rebuilding to be done by the time next season starts is optimistic. We need 3 starting 11 additions (DM, C, RB), who wont come cheap, and then arguably another back-up CB, long-term LB etc. We also have a pretty large number of outgoing deals to get done. Given the number of deals which we typically do in any window, I think the 21/22 season is a more realistic expectation for us being back where we were a couple years ago
Don’t disagree, just hoping the squad will be better next season than it is now and maybe a change in training methods / squad use will reduce the injuries. In my view, expecting our squad rebuilding to be done by the time next season starts is optimistic. Maybe, just maybe Jose an the club dont think like fans and have a different view on what they want to upgrade or replace on. I mean 2 weeks ago no one was crying out we needed a striker and now it looks like we will have a new one this week
I still think we might if the right one comes alongMaybe they do have a different view. Regarding a CF, Spurs seem to take a view that we need much fewer people capable of playing CF than pretty much every other team in the PL. It was astonishing that we released Llorente in the summer without having another CF on the way in. I thought we'd end up getting another Son-like player who can play behind a CF as well as as a CF
We would also have another £20 to £30 million odd dip in our finances if we miss the Europa as well as the CL.Can not agree with that at all, firstly if we can win it we get into the CL, secondly as a fan who goes on these trips it would be a big miss, thirdly we need to be in Europe if we are ever to progress, and lastly its something we might just win and put a trophy into out empty trophy cabinet.
