Harry Kane MBE

If his name was Harrio Kaninho everyone would be saying we should break the bank to buy him. .

Is the the world's most boring retort to any bashing of anything english? ****ing dull dull dull.

Also, why are people so defensive? So protective? I can Al out sense actual tears in the cries of "why are people bashing Harry Kane?" It's just an opinion, he's playing pretty well, but some serious limitations to his play. I don't think he's suited to the premiere league. Hopefully I'm wrong. I'd be delighted.

No offence, but I find it impossible to understand how you could arrive at such a conclusion.

Care to explain?

GrimsbyYid - the guy is right.

if Kane had come through the system of a top Spanish club and had been talked up in footballing circles since he was young, had an incredible youth team goal scoring record, been prolific throughout the international representative levels and had a very respectable professional goal scoring record, many Spurs fans would be creaming their pants over a striker who scored almost 1 in 2 last year and has been in great form this season.... The fact it's in fact the awkward looking Harry Kane means a lot of Spurs fans don't think he'll make it at the top.

The thing that worried me was that he seemed a little slow. He now has enough pace and strength about him to worry defenders and whilst he isn't silky skilful, he has beat more players in the last two games than Lamela has all season. As for prolific - he has scored consistently at every level he has played and many people defend Soldado by saying at least he has worked positions to miss from. Kane makes things happen and unlike Bob, he never hides and is always looking to get on the end of something. Add to the fact he is big, has a very good touch and vision and we certainly have a great prospect on our hands and someone who is 100% a Prem standard player.

Last season he was impressive when he finally got a run of games and this year he has taken his game up a level. Will he ever be world class? Almost certainly not. However he has been impressing for a good while now and this isn't a flash in the pan sort of run over a month. He can probably will be a very important player for us and England should he not suffer any injuries or a long term loss of form.

I definitely think that it hurts some fans that some young local lads have more ability and end product than our much vaunted 'Beatles.' Personally i am immensely proud of Mason, Kane and bentelab and am loving how well they are all playing. Call it protective but i care for homegrown lads over players who have cost us in excess of £15m and don't give a crap our club.

I really think that's a very small portion of our fans, if any. Most people I see on here or talk to face to face love the fact that we're producing our own talents and young players are coming through the ranks.

I've seen enough of Kane now to see he's 100% going to have a successful Premier League career and has the capacity to become a 15 goal a season player at least, and one who also contributes a lot to besides his goals. We'll know a lot more about him by the end of the season but at the moment he's one of the first names on the team sheet.

Agree with most of that, except where you say soldado hides and doesn't look to get on the end of things, not quite sure how you've possibly come to that conclusion, but that's probably for the soldado thread!

Personally I saw Soldado not attacking crosses in the same way Kane does as i think he was scared to miss. For a high level poacher, he wasn't doing he very basics. one of the first things to go in a striker who can hit the broadside of the barn is their belief and this season it looked to me that Soldado wasn't getting into areas where he could miss.

I do agree that the -"inho argument" is a bit boring.

Is Paulinho getting a lot of slack because of his name? Doesn't seem like it. Is Mason not getting praise because he's not names Masoninho? I don't see it. Most people are very happy about Kane, rarely have I seen so many posters vocally voice that they've changed their minds about a player in such a short time. The change in opinion hasn't been all that dissimilar to what we've seen with Chadli this season, but of course he's foreign so it must be some bias one way or the other behind other people having other opinions about football players...

Yep, cliched nonsense which bares little relation to reality.

it's a future I am happy to support. Agree.

Fair enough, I get the complete opposite feeling, that's why you see soldado missing so many chances, because he doesn't hide, he attacks crosses, keeps making the runs and takes the shots on. But that's cool don't think we're going to agree and this is for the soldado thread.

Grimsby is 100% right in that people should have a right to thier opinion with out having to endure unnecessarily aggressive back lash. its not like he said lamela wasnt worth 30 million now is it

Has anyone denied Grimsby his opinion?

They've merely expressed their own opinion about his opinion, as far as I can see.

The problem is when a poster regularly expresses an exaggerated opinion on a subject people who can think more clearly on said subject will often bring them on it. We have all done it when blinded by a personal prejudice we try to make things fit with how we view them. I have been guilty of it myself as I am sure we all have.

I know a few of us would have taken Lambert as an option a while back and Kane looks a better player than him already

Likewise I would have took Benteke and gain Kane looks to have more to me to offer than him

I don't know if his current good form will continue or if it's a sign of his improvement but hey I think it's great to see one of our own for once making a real go of it and succeeding

Its so ridiculous its laughable.
I have to say 18 months ago i didnt think Kane looked liked a pl player and didnt think he would make it, i couldn't be happier about how wrong i was.
Now he dosnt just look like a pl player he looks like he has the ability to be one of the better ones.

NEIL WARNOCK blames the Europa League for stopping him signing Harry Kane on loan.

Tottenham used Kane in a second string on Thursday nights until the striker - who now has 11 goals this season - proved his worth in league games too.

And now the in-form England under-21 man will fancy his chances against Warnock's Crystal Palace when they head to White Hart Lane tomorrow.

Warnock said: "I've tried to get him a few times this year.

"He's an exciting player, his first thought when he gets the ball is positive.

"When I came in he wasn't involved at the time, we thought there was a chance of getting him on loan but unfortunately they're in that horrible cup on a Thursday night.

"We just asked about his availability and were told that on Thursdays he was important in the squad.

"I think we might have had a shout because he needed to play games but from our point of view he played in that competition, did quite well and then worked his way into the first team."

But Warnock still reckons that the loan market will be his best chance of bringing in quality in January.

The Palace boss added: "There may be players like Kane who are not getting into the team who the club itself might feel beneficial by lending him to another Premier League club that's probably not fighting it out for the top half of the table."

EL is a "horrible cup" ? Shows what kind of manager Warnock is when he can call an European cup a horrible one. Funny thing is his club Palace has never won any Cup in their history ! They won't ever if they continue to have a manager like Warnock !

This must surely be a contender for the-most-ridiculous-comment-of-the-year award!

I still would take Benteke, personally think him and Kane would be a tremendous partnership
