Fair enough, who knows.
But they've flown in to gauge exactly what Levy is looking for. They've offered less. Doesn't mean they can't/won't come back with more....
When we sold carrick, madric and bale they didn't play a friendly in the last week before the season if i remember correctly?
I don't disagree with what you say re Bayern trying to get Kane for a 'deal'. But you asked if that's it, and it doesn't sound like it is and I don't think the fact they didn't straight up offer what Levy was looking for after their meeting means that's the end of the saga.I would have expected the point of a face to face meeting to be to get a clear picture of where everyone stands - Bayern should have left it knowing exactly what was needed their side to get the deal wrapped up. I don't see a way back for them now that the offer they came back with after such a meeting was rejected.
I think they saw the contract situation and thought they could get a deal on a top player without too much sweat - and from their perspective i can't see them wanting to buy a 100m £ player in the summer when they could potentially get him signed up for zero in Jan
Well this has been rumbling on now for quite a while and not at the early stages of explatory offers - like i say them flying over was significant imv, that's a 'what do we need to do to get this deal done' meeting. I certainly expected to see the next offer accepted, at least prior to him starting yesterday.I don't disagree with what you say re Bayern trying to get Kane for a 'deal'. Are you sure Levy has come out of every meeting and offered the selling club what they were looking for straight away? Or tried his luck somewhat still? I don't doubt Bayern now know they are going to either have to pay what Levy is asking or not get Kane....
Don't know enough about his dad to compare. What do the GG elder statesmen think?Fat Frank
We will (levy) only accept an offer that meets his valuationWell this has been rumbling on now for quite a while and not at the early stages of explatory offers - like i say them flying over was significant imv, that's a 'what do we need to do to get this deal done' meeting. It seems they think we're desperate to sell, just to get a transfer fee. But we're obviously not, and seem prepared to fight for his signature, or let him go for free. It's at the point where they need to put up or shut up now - they must know the price and just trying to play games. Makes you question how much they really want him - they can clearly afford him if they want. If true that Kane said he'll stay if it's not done by Brentford then they're taking a big risk.
Haaland?Has a nepo-baby ever been better than their dad? Or would we end up with a Jordi at best?
Gudjohnsen? Oxlade-Chamberlain?
Haaland, Maldini, Chiesa (debatable but looks that way) come to mind.Haaland?
there are probably loads, but we only remember the kids as their parents didn't play at the very top level
Clough maybe, and Darren won more than Sir Alex
Clough was a prolific goal scorer in the second division, almost a goal a game, he would had got a chance in 1st division if he hadn't had a reputation of an awkward sod. Injury finished his career at 26/27.
Yes, he was excellent, but Nigel was pretty special too, a more elegant player perhaps.
Not as many goals, but wasn't an out and out forward, and played in the top division.
For me he only looked good playing for his dad, the system worked well for him. Cloughie was great at getting the best out of very average players.

Bayern haven’t met that
I still say our fans should look at the comments we made when buying Porro, knowing the fee
Haggling here and there is normal but you have to get to the valuation that will be accepted or accept defeat
Ive not heard they have met what levy has told themThing is we were told that they had finally offered what we wanted and a deal was virtually done on Friday before Levy then jetted off to the U.S., We know Levy has form for accepting an offer then going back on it and haggling for a bit extra at the last minute.
Who knows? I'm still hoping that he is just toying with them
