Wasn't it reported, for what it's worth, that Lewis wasn't happy for Kane to walk.
Irrelevant, given that “he’s got nothing to do with the club.”

Rubbish. Greaves name is still there. The list just emphasises the reality of them being one of the very best that has scored goals in this league. Shearer won’t suddenly be erased if Kane surpasses him, what nonsense.
No one is saying winning trophies is not the purpose of football. The point was it is a harder achievement being all time top goal scorer than winning a trophy with Bayern - and I think that’s obvious isn’t it?
Iirc Andy Cole held the record for a period of time before Shearer took it. But the confusion adds to my point, over time the previous holder gets forgotten about. Only the current holder matters in time.it was probably always Shearer wasn’t it, well other than Brian Deane on day 1.

Only by THFC. Is clear from lack of bids that he's not valued that high.I thought he was valued at £100m not Euro's ??
But see you didn't answer my question about who the top scorer before Shearer was probably because you don't remember who it was. With time details fade, the only things remembers are those that are etched in stone. A goal scorer record is not, it can be superceded.
And who cares whether it's harder or not (your perspective). You don't win for doing it the hard way, you win by winning. Period.

I'm assuming Levy has told Kane, Man U and Chelsea that there is no way he will sell to a PL club, otherwise there would surely be noises? Just look at the amount of 'Why aren't Man U in for Kane?' articles at the moment.I expect a few others are just waiting to see where the fee lands.
As soon as we accept I expect United will get involved, Chelsea too.

English fans maybe. German fans and Bayern fans will remember who won a trophy at Bayern in 2024. Likewise someone like myself who watches a variety of football and has an interest in football outside of just the British Isles will know as well. One thing is for sure, people are far more likely to remember the top PL scorers than those who won a trophy at Bayern in 2024! It is a far more interesting achievement too.

We're not tinkling about but it seems that the club needs the money from the Kane sale to purchase any more players to continue the rebuild.I don’t think we are tinkling about, we want to keep him, but no reason to panic as if he does go we have Son and Richi, who are both really fudging good.
They need the money from sales, not necessarily the sale of Kane. We're not tinkling about but it seems that the club needs the money from the Kane sale to purchase any more players to continue the rebuild.

We're not getting anyone near Kanes level when he leaves, you need to move on from expecting anything above a striker that gets around 15 goals a season.I’ll give you Son but Richarlison is nowhere near Kane’s level.
The issue is we don't know if Richy is a 15 goal a season guy. I think he can be, especially if the service is good but it's far from certain. We're not getting anyone near Kanes level when he leaves, you need to move on from expecting anything above a striker that gets around 15 goals a season.
