Guglielmo Vicario

Venom has gone from gonading Bergvall to strangling the gaffer, dread to think what he’ll do if he’s still here next season

It’s passion
It’s football
Good for them as they were clearly fine with it and actually enjoyed it

I’m not sure RDZ liked it at all. My memory is that he didn’t acknowledge Vicario through the whole thing. It had the weird look of the school bully hanging off someone’s neck while pretending to be their mate. 😂

Heat of the moment and all that, but not something most people would attempt with their boss, outside the confines of Ricky Gervais’s The Office.

Well, we've only had him and Lloris since 2012, and Hugo was world class

To be honest, I'd probably rate our EPL-era GKs something like:

1) Lloris
2) Robinson
3) Thorstvedt
4) Vicario
5) Friedel
6) Walker
7) Gomes
8) Keller
9) Sullivan
So, as we only think football started in 1992 - he's probably around 15th at best

I used to love Walker, no idea why. I also loved Espen Baardsen after he made his debut against Liverpool i believe? I ended up getting the orange and Blue multi colour goalkeeper top because of that game.

Loved Baardsen and Sullivan because they displaced Walker. Baardsen was unreal but couldn’t kick the ball from what I recall.

This was my post in the who was our best keeper thread a few months back.

Back pass rule completley ruined Thordsvedt but prior to that he was probably a top 5 keeper in the Fooball League and top 25 in the world. But that was prior to the Prem.

Gomes, Robinson and Sullivan were all good keepers at their best but for various reasons lost confidence and fell away.

Keller was a bit like C rate a Vicario. Great shot stopper but terrible distributon. We had another keeper called Espen Baardsen who came in for Walker for a period that made some incredible saves but couldn’t even take goal kicks.

Walker was actually had great distribution and good at corners, maybe even the best of the lot, but was terrible as a shot stopper at times win poor positioning.

Cudicini as I said was probably the best #2 we have had. A step up from Vorm who was a decent himself as a backup.
