Obviously had to go but I can’t help but feel a bit of regret about it. The lad is a terrific footballer, has a nasty streak but never really looked like he’d sustain a run of form for us. Maybe the one little run he had under Jose but, that aside, he’s always been injured or peripheral.

He missed Argentina's World Cup win (for which he was likely a starter) due to injury so I don't believe he's a faker and I don't understand why so many of ours fans like to take that path. He's just an injury prone player, it happens. We've had many of them previously.

A very good player? More like a good player in a team where everyone does his work for him, his total lack of a right foot and poor attitude dragged the team down when he played. I can't think of one game where I come away saying he was great today or we missed not having him, I have as much respect for him as he had for us.
