A draw and a loss later, and he was just telling a few lies wasnt he?

Bring on the duck!!

Pato closely watched by Tottenham

There is not a week without former AC Milan prodigy do about him. The striker to 20 goals in 2015 - a record for him - attracts the greed everywhere on the Old Continent. And if he provides will finish his season with São Paulo, the Brazilian striker repeated the urge his European history is not over.

And after Lazio, Galatasaray, Crystal Palace, West Ham, Everton and Wolfsburg, but that there was currently a concrete offer certainly, Tottenham would also instantly.

According to UOL Esporte, the Spurs would have already learned about the player's situation through its representatives. The London leaders, to get out of these conversations, could decide to take action by sending a first concrete offer to the Corinthians.

A very likely scenario when you know that the Paulista club always wants to get rid of him, and that Tottenham has largely liquidity necessary for its coming.

Alexandre Pato, second best in the Brasileirão with eight goals on the clock, could leave Brazil this summer.Corinthians hope not less than 10 million euros to release his player.

First of all he's an ex-manager trying to save his reputation. Second what lie is he telling? That the issue was money? Would't we have more money if we qualified for cl? He even says "probably". If this is your best example, then I'm even more convinced I'm right.;)

Not the best example. There are countless! I just thought it was rather timely given we were talking about that exact same topic. Well yes, the lie is that it was down to money. Yes you can link, but I take your point.

But if you want better examples, here you go!

Alan Pardew 06/01/11 - "I have said all along that Andy Carroll will not be leaving this football club 100%"
Alan Pardew 17/01/11 - "It’s ridiculous. How many times do I need to say he’s not for sale? Well here it is one more time, he’s not for sale.”
Alan Pardrew 01/02/11 - “The money will be Andy’s legacy to the team.”

Tim Sherwood: "I remember playing against Christian Benteke as a manager, what a handful he can be. We need to get back to that. He needs a goal for himself. That will breed confidence.”

Spurs played Aston Villa twice in the 2013/14 season. At Villa Park on the 20th of October, It was AVB that oversaw the team that beat the Villans by two goals to nil. It was AVB that saw Benteke play for the last half hour. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24510366

By the time Spurs faced Villa for a second time, Sherwood was the manager and Benteke did not feature in that game.

Ok, I'll give you the first one. However when offered that amount of money everything changes. At the time he said it he probably believed it himself, so he wasn't lying per se. He didn't know Liverpool would offer 35 M three weeks later. But I'll give you that one.

The second one I think is more Tim not remembering rather than lying. It's Tim Sherwood we're talking about.

I still don't think it's common for managers to tell straight up lies.

Arsene Wenger: "I did not see it"

How good is Wanyama anyway? I've never really followed Southampton much. Always thought Schneiderlin was the main man in their midfield. What would he bring that we don't have?

I wrote this in the Wanyama thread a minute ago:
For me he is a Palacios v2.0. Has very limited abilites with the ball, but protects the defence very good.
Let's see whats happening the next 10 days. I wouldnt be over the moon, but I think he is better than Dier and Mason.

As a defensive midfielder there isn't a Better one in the league IMO

As an all round player he has limitations

He made Southampton tick defensively last season hence why there was room for Schneiderlain to get forward

But I would add that when Toby played there a few times he looked better than Wanyama IMO

Arsenal apparently going to be announcing Benzema tomorrow. Prolific striker for £50m whereas we are struggling to sign a player worth £20m who isn't very prolific.

Just goes to show you how far behind Arsenal we are now.

Yeah, well, ten plus years of cl and a sixty k stadium does that to a team. Hardly anything new this season.

If we're still in denial over being the inferior club to arsenal, no wonder a lot of people are moaning. Wake up and smell the coffee.

Yeh true. Nothing new. Just makes me sad but small steps eh. my coffee smells good today.

I'm a huge fan of Benzema, I'll be surprised if Madrid do want to sell him, he's absolutely crucial to their system, that said Benitez has tried a few different things pre season

if Wenger uses him the right way he will score plenty, I'd also expect Walcott to thrive

if he is available surely United and Chelsea would be interested as well, pedro and hazzard off of Benzema... woof

Come to North London some time and count the number of arsnal shirts compared to Spurs - no denying how far ahead they are from us, financially they are way ahead now and have taken the fan base in these parts for many years. When I was growing up in the 80s it was never like this.

Theory is FSW wants to play 2 up front for Madrid (CR/Bale) and midfield behind that .. Benzema might be surplus ..

Watching the games yesterday, I was struck how good 2 newbies from the Championship looked... the Bournemouth striker Wilson who got a hattrick and the Wolves winger Sako who signed for Palace and played instead of Bolasie.

These are the types of players I thought Mitchell 3b (black box bloke) would be identifying.

I don't think Sako is brilliant or epic, but he seemed a bit like Bolasie i.e. an energetic explosive "typical African attacking inside forward type" that burst forward, had 6 good shots, 5 on target, got his rewards... so easy to identify players at that level. That is why Palace don't mind selling Bolasie. They also have Puncheon who was excellent at times last year, just as good as Bolasie flavour of the month.

So I don't want Spurs to splash out £15m or whatever on someone like Bolasie when there are plenty of others available just as good for very little cash (e.g. Sako).

I don't watch The Championship but it must be easy to identify the top 10 players and sign some of those on freebies/last year deals on the cheap, rather than splash 15m on someone like Bolasie or Rudi Gestede.

It was also interesting to see West Ham capitulate, the full backs were really awful... yet Cresswell and Jenkinson have looked really good at times, the latter was the standout man at the Euro U21 for England, but was embarrassed yesterday by another stereotypically pacy African guy that just kept bombing forward ruthlessly Max Gradel, another we could have snapped up easily...

I do understand the Spurs way of not overspending, not splashing the cash, being canny... but seems like we are missing some key players and then identifying EXPENSIVE options who are no better than the cheapies... I am yet to be impressed by a surprise deal identified by 3b.

I didn't see any of those games but we're they comparable to our game? Leicester denied room in to burst into in the last 30 yards. We are crying out for that kind of player but not for a game like yesterday.
