General Transfer Rumour Discussion Thread

By the way... in case some don't realise... you can click on your name in the top right, preferences, tickbox for profanity. You're welcome, roostersuckers.

Also the Graham Hunter podcasts are quite a good listen, talking to people at length like Gary Neville and David Moyes, worth a listen.

OK so those aren't really transfer related... but Moyes does talk about scouting players and selling/signing players and building a younger Everton team on a budget and his time at Man U not having the money or time to sign the right players so that at least is transfer related.

The more you look at the backing Moyes was given by United and the more you look at the sh** football played by LVG and his complete circus approach to transfers after authorising spending on £200m, the more you think Moyes got royally shafted there.

Add to this the flak Moyes got for buying Fellani and then how LVG has subsequently used him as a target man.

LA Galaxy have signed Giovanni Dos Santos to a 4 1/2-year designated player contract, a deal believed to have cost the team a franchise-record $34 million, partly on Robbie Keane's recommendation.

Many Arsenal fans were quick to jump to the conclusion that Benzema was on his way to the Emirates

An Instagram post by Real Madrid's Karim Benzema led to many Arsenal fans jumping to the hopeful conclusion that the France striker is set to sign for the north London club. The 27-year-old uploaded a photo of himself on a plane with the hashtag "directionturfu" - French slang for "direction: future".

Meanwhile, the Gunners' 26-year-old Germany midfielder Mesut Ozil was seemingly in the mood for some deep thinking on Tuesday evening, tweeting: "If you want, you can overcome all: pressure, expectations, gravity." Perhaps physics is not his strongest subject?

And following reports Tottenham were getting ready to offer £15m for West Brom striker Saido Berahino, the 21-year-old's club denied they had received any bid, tweeting: "OK, this is getting silly now. So let us make it clear. There has been NO bid for Saido. That's it. Carry on everyone."

Yoann Gourcuff

During his time at Lyon, Gourcuff (left) is believed to have cost the French club £42m in transfer fees, add-ons and wages

Age: 29 Position: Midfielder Former club: Lyon

Once described as 'the new Zinedine Zidane', Gourcuff is available on a free after his contract at Lyon expired in June. A Champions League winner with AC Milan in 2007, the French playmaker joined Lyon from Bordeaux for £20m in 2010, but a succession of injuries meant the France international made only 90 league appearances for the club in five years, scoring 14 goals and providing 17 assists. Arsenal and Liverpool have both been linked with a move.

Did you know? After his move to Lyon in 2010, Gourcuff was described by former Saudi Sportswashing Machine and Tottenham midfielder David Ginola as "probably the most talented [French] player of his generation".

Worth a pay-as-you-play contract?

Same with Hull, i dont think either of those sides will be in the top 2.
