Gareth Bale

Re: Gareth Bale

Second after C. Ronaldo in 2006/07, when he also won Fans player of the year award, according to Wikipedia.

Still: Very well done!!

Well that isn't going to happen given the internet mobility of the scousers.

Re: Gareth Bale - Football Writers' Player of the Year

They've nothing to complain about - Suarez got one vote, which I guess means John Aldridge has a column somewhere

Re: Gareth Bale

Very encouraging to hear AVB say Bale isn't going anywhere. Obviously he had to be diplomatic in January when asked about signing a new striker, but I like it that he's putting pressure on the board to keep Bale.

Bale is without doubt the best player I have seen in a Spurs shirt.

Re: Gareth Bale

you'd be surprised how many times i read a post - disagree entirely look to the left and see your name there and think "oh, better not"

Re: Gareth Bale

It'll be exactly same as modric first summer of real interested give it the 'we don't sell out best players' blah blah blah and fair enough go through with it then next summer just go straight into negotiations to sell him.

Re: Gareth Bale

Rare insight piece of honesty and modesty from a professional football player. A lot of the brilliant goals were moments of inspiration and impossible to repeat. It might true about the knuckleball strike, but we know that Bale is capable of surgically threading balls into the corner of goals/above keepers too.

Man of mystery: Tottenham superstar Gareth Bale admits even he doesn't know how he scores his free-kicks

'It’s something that works. But do I know what the ball is going to do? No - I haven’t a clue!' says Spurs winger

“You can hit it right and then it goes left. Sometimes it pays off, sometimes it looks stupid, but it’s obviously a great weapon to have. It’s one of those things that can be the best thing in the world or the worst. Hopefully I can score a few more goals from it.”

Re: Gareth Bale

unfortunately avb's words in the press is as reliable as ol' harry.
in the end levy controls the purse strings, been like that since the dawn of time.

If we had made the CL last season, Modric would still be here...
