Roman Pavlyuchenko: was his talent wasted with us?
Or was he the ultimate symbol of 'Spurs-iness'?
Neither. He was on par with us.
1:4 ratio in the Premier League.
Career avge is around 1:3-4 except Spartak where it was 1:2.
I'd say that's about what you'd expect.

Although to be fair he's currently smashing it in the Russian third division.
Could probably still do a job.

Harry needed to play him more. He was best of the bunch of non scoring strikers we had at the time. Always had time for Pav.

I remember him as the smiling nearly-man. Good player in the wrong league. Said in the 80's American movie way: his brain was cashing checks his feet couldn't cash. Always in the right position. Always half a second too late. But it was impossible to dislike Pav and his elementary school haircut, so in a way he was just like Spurs.

Might have to dig out the stats but I remember him as one of those rare players who was better off the bench. Maybe not the best all round game but a great knack for getting up to speed immediately with the game and delivering an impact when he came on.
