Disagree kindly. The reason they changed it is to get more money into the club at the end of the day, these decisions are never based on 'football emotions', they are based on financial bottom line.
I was at Liverpool game other day and guess what, Liverpool fans got booted out in North Upper where i sit. The reason for the decision was financial and how the club can eek more money from the fans.
I doubt there is much if any cash incentive for doing it. A couple of quid transaction fee on a few thousand seats? Barely worth the effort.
It was working fine beforehand but last season there was a lot of noise from the trust about away fans and other ticketing issues and this was one of the clubs direct responses to those complaints.
Away fans will always find a way in - not sure what point you were trying to make there.
