Financial Fair Play

This is good news for us... right?

Should be depending what the final rules are. Won't get everton and the like having £300m loses chasing the dream. Stadium and infrastructure spend is fine as is academy. Which will make clubs stronger. In the long term. So good for football.

Limit the degenerate gambler owners. Who just want to splurge cash thinking they'll get cl. Which just inflates wages and transfer fees for players. If they don't get it cut off the tap and leaves the club in a world of problems.

Kieran mcguire made this. An estimate of where each club is for the new spending rules (they will not come into effect till 2025/26 season though). We'll have to abide by the 70% cap next season (at least the second half) as will teams ineurope.

Seeing as most of City's revenue comes from companies with a PO Box in a corner shop, that means we're best placed, right?

More Importantly Chelsea are fudged right!?

They've got players to sell. Lukaku will be out of contract in the summer too. So no amortisation or wages for him.

But yeah they will struggle. No cl football again.

Also they should be charged for the dodgy accounts under abramovich. How long that will take is anyones guess though.

I thought the deadwood they needed to sell wouldn't make them any profit i.e Lukaku, Kepa etc. and then realistic ones to make them some decent money would be the homegrown ones like Gallagher, Chalobah and Broja, Except no one will be paying the the 30mill that they want for Broja or Chalobah.

Realistically setting the limit at 85% might not keep clubs out of trouble. Are all other club costs covered by just the other 15%?.

We've not seen the final print of what the rules will be yet. It may be like the old that owners may have to cover a certain amount of losses with equity.
Really couldn't say at this point.

Interesting. Mustn't have thought they were going to offload enough players in time. They won't be able to add the revenue they got from the hotel going forward though. Guess it made a few quid due to it's location. Although no european games wasn't as much as usual.

Wonder what they'll do next season? Lukaku is out of contract in the summer so probably saves them £35m a year in amortisation and wages. They get rid of sterling. They might be ok going forward.

They can't do it again and the only other significant (non player) asset they have is the training ground. So they can only do it once more.

The PL might have something to say about the value too. Given that nobody other than a Chelsea fan would go anywhere near them on a match day and that the owners have made it clear they'll either be redeveloping or moving elsewhere, I think the value is high.

I dunno. 2 hotels in that location. I'm not an estate agent. But it could probably be considered fair value.
