I did not know Liverpool had been a UNESCO site but surely it’s a step in the right direction- this country has enough decay without slapping preservation orders on wastelands.

Exactly. Thats the only ambition here. Stay in the league and kick on with the stadium. Common sense if unsexy decision.

The historic waterfront was actually really nice. Liverpool was once the 'second city of the empire' remember.

But recently they've ruined it with lots of pre-fab bolt-together portacabin monstrosities, and have rightly been stripped of their UNESCO status
