Everton

Poor old Toffees....what a mess.

I do like the way they extract some short term capital injection out of anyone they give an 'exclusivity period'.

Keeps them going. The new lot loaned them £200m? After 777 loaned them £100m? Not including msp etc...

The club seems to be involved with degenerate gamblers. Or pretending they are a nigerian prince just coming into their inheritance, but just need a little cash to tide me over.

Ok. Sounds like friedkin didn't really lend any money to everton. They bought the debt off of msp. Which was secured on the stadium.

Now they have pulled out of buying everton. The club still needs to pay the debt. Or lose the new stadium.

Deals may be made but friedkin might have bought a £700m stadium for £200m. Not sure what they'd do with it.

Host events, build housing, and rent it out to Everton.

Still be a long time beford they'd make their money back. Although then again with property the value usually increases anyway. So would be seen as a stable investment.
Wouldn't be that long if they retained most of the matchday revenue too. Or charged Everton £15m a year. Throw in becoming a major Liverpool concert venue, a hotel, some housing.
Could see a big return in a decade and establish a steady income stream alongside it.

Everton could just stay at goodison. They wouldn't move if they are not getting the majority of the matchday revenue.

Charging everton £15m a year isn't much after the running costs of the stadium are taken into account. They'd be better off taking the £200m and putting it into a 5% interest bank account.

Selling it back to new owners of everton for £300m though?

Who has paid the other £500m?

Moshiri gave a lot of interest free loans. 777 loaned them another £200m (this is semi frozen while their courtcase goes on). There are others banks etc... smaller scale though. External debt is over £600m.

Article here. Not read it. But it should explain it. (Too tired and drunk).
