European Super League - Dead on arrival

This is also a terrible idea, particularly slots 3 and 4 and the playoff idea which means pretty much all the main clubs will get a second opportunity to sneak back into the last 16.

Yeah, to be honest the new CL rules mean things won’t be that different in practice than the ESL, in terms of: most top clubs almost guaranteed to qualify, lots more matches than before, a less exciting league format.

Wish the backlash against the ESL would now switch focus to these CL changes, and see how the clubs and UEFA react then!

Clubs can’t react... it was a UEFA decision to make the changes
And as the CL is a qualification tournament everyone gets a chance
We know in reality that’s utter bollcoks, but that’s the sure fire defence

I think the changes favour us. We just need to keep our coefficient high by qualifying for Europe each year and then in 3 years time we might sneak a CL spot even if we dont finish top 4

Oh yeah they definitely favour us. Just some people care about sporting integrity more than self interest :p

yes, but the large clubs have signalled unhappiness and there won't be any value provoking them

The other side of that is listen to West Ham fans about their stadium v our fans about our stadium.
Also compare the profits we'll make out of our stadium compared to West Ham.

Thing is it’s not ‘their’ stadium is it? They use it 20 times a year.

Very clever by the 12 that they were not members at the time a ridiculous change to the CL got voted through.

Fcukin' hell. It was fun while it lasted, eh?

We got to swan around with all the prettiest girls at the ball for a couple of magical moments. Other than massive financial and architectural achievements, we really had no footballing basis for being allowed to float about in the company of the world's biggest clubs. We were basically filling out the ranks.

Easy come, easy go. I'm not the slightest bit narked about what happened and looking forward to seeing Spurs run the table in the run in, nick a top-four finish, snatch a honking hunk of silverware and declare ourselves bloody well pleased.

Ryan Mason, Legend. Julien Nagelsmann, Willkommen.

Reality may have issues with that.
We were only included because of the PL rule that it takes 75% of clubs to vote to expel another member.
