I mentioned this in another thread. I work with a French guy who follows Toulouse. It is pronounced cap-ooh-ay. Not cap poo like sky keep saying. They can't even pronounce Jose's name right after all these years. They still say hosay like the Spanish. Its Jose with the J pronounced like in English. As in Jo say.
Weird...... I live in Toulouse now, and have several friends who support TFC here (though its decidedly a rugby town) and they all call him Capoo.
Oftentimes it comes down to the language though because for instance, my name is Will but when I moved over here I started getting people calling me Weeell. My last name gets butchered pretty bad too. It's just that the letters making up my name make a completely different sound in French than they do in English. Simples. Not trying to say your friend is wrong, but, in this case, he's not exactly 100% accurate... :tumbleweed:
