That looks the income stream least developed...so if we want more money coming in we explore that avenue.
As I think Raziel was saying, and I agree, we are the step below top table, so only excellent players that come thru will be wanted by the elite. We have had a few of them (but of course, we can then also be hit with the 'selling club' stick).
Also players that we have purchased and reached our level BUT then don't work out are hard to shift, probably being paid more than at most clubs, don't want to move down but zero chance of moving up .Sideways perhaps??
So we buy a good few youngsters, compliment with the academy, step by step wage increases as they improve and then ultimately on heavily incentivised decent contracts. Learn to sell smartly, timing and price, production line replacement ideally. Then add some ready made, almost guaranteed to work type signings to compliment the core. But even these can be 25-27 year olds so we have a chance of re-sale if they don't work out or are a big hit.
This is probably close to our current approach and although I think this is the healthiest/exciting approach, in truth it's partly driven because of the diminished cash flow and massive transfer debt. We couldn't (can't) keep spending at our current rate, certainly if success wasn't coming off the back of it.
