Seems a bit of a random change, would guess it's tied to some upcoming sponsorship or something like that otherwise why bother.

Tenders from 10 companies, numeorous consultations, endless meetings…I’ll bet it is much more time than you’d think and that it’s probably cost a few hundred thousand.
Yup absolutely. Having worked in marketing once upon a time, it's incredible the amount of people that have to get involved for very little change....

Note they also introduced a whole new palette including lime green etc, so expect kits and merch to incorporate all these new colours.
Kids love bright colours, so it will sell a lot of kits and attract a lot of young fans.

^^^Those are the neon colours I'm talking about.
My son will love it if we release kits in those colours.
He doesn't want me to buy him another boring white one, he wants this kinda thing.
Kids, eh.

To be fair, I'm not sure how much time was required to come up with that 'new' badge....

When I saw it on google news I saw the image of the new badge before I saw the headline.

Had zero clue I was looking at anything different.

Besides which on our kits we don't have the now removed lettering. I can't rememebr ever seeing 'Tottenham Hotspur' underneath the badge on any shirt in my lifetime...
