I can only comment from what I’ve seen form the outside and what I’ve been told
The Saudis know they can’t take over football so they are focussing on other sports
No coincidence they have taken over boxing now where £££ talks
Saudi Sportswashing Machine have just won their first trophy in about 70 years! Their Saudi owners are running them very close to FFP limits. There isn't really anything more they could've done at this stage. Now that the legal case is complete re: in-house sponsorships and fair value I suspect we'll see some pumped sponsorship deals, which will increase Saudi Sportswashing Machine's turnover. I suspect their owners will continue to operate them right up to FFP limits (which means covering the max allowed losses as they are already doing).

They pumped in some money
And haven’t done anything since
People think it’s because of PSR
And it is… in that they can’t bypass it so are spending their money elsewhere
There are some good pods about it and I’m working with some experts on Saudi right now who have said it loads
If they can’t own it they will just stop doing it
Yes but you were originally suggesting it is because they don't care and don't want to spend. When it is the other way round (as you have it in this post). They cannot spend any more than they currently are as they are already very close to FFP limits.

Unlike us, I bet Saudi Sportswashing Machine continue to operate right at FFP limits with their owners covering the shortfall.

Amortisation and wages are over the course of contracts.
If they get to the limit, unless they boost revenue or sell players/reduce costs they have no choice but to stay at the limit.

That's without buying anyone.

They don’t care because they can’t manipulate things in their favour
They have stopped investing
As I say, there are experts out there who say this and the numbers stack up
They are now using boxing as their focus for sportswashing which they can manipulate so they do care about that
One thing all of these owners want is instant success to justify their interest

Tbf Chelsea have shown that if you are motivated to there are loopholes to be exploited to give you additional wiggle room - if the Saudis wanted to they could spend a lot more and figure a way around it, or not and just pay their way to a slap on the wrists.

I think their football focus is on their domestic league currently

change for Tottenham, what a bunch of cretins

“Wah, wah, wah, buy us trophies”

it’s all these protests are ever really about

No you've got all wrong, it's not about buying throphies, they just want cheaper admission, drinks, food, merchandise and to have their say in what decision are made about managers, players along with getting the attention they need.

Players
Facilities
They aren’t interested as owners because they can’t manipulate things
Selling players won't change their postion, they'll still have to be replaced.
Again what facilities? You keep stating this without saying what they are. It's a genuine question as I don't know what facilities they have outside their stadium and ground.

They can sell a corner shop and claim it’s worth £100m
You not seen what Chelsea have done

They can't, it gets checked for fair market value. They'd probably get away with a slightly inflated value.
When Chelsea did it, it took ages for it to be cleared as it was being checked for fair market value as well.

Chelsea have just sold their women’s team to themselves and a multiple of 20 times their turnover and they lose money
You can make anything up now as the fair market value things is dead
The key at Saudi Sportswashing Machine is the owners are focussed on boxing now

Not true. Losses allowed under FFP only relate to specific things (mens first team squad and coaching staffs transfer cost (amortised over length of contract) + wages + agents fees - player sales.

We get nowhere near the allowed losses for FFP limits. Our losses are mainly due to depreciation on the stadium. Huge backers coming in could immediately up our transfer and wage budget quite considerably (and that is before considering things like stadium, kit and training ground sponorship at Emirates Marketing Project type levels)
Agreed, you're right, I realised that today.
Spurs are posting losses, but a lot of the deductions don't count towards PSR, so we are absolutely fine in PSR terms, and thus if Spurs (Levy) had (or finds an investor with) hundreds of millions, we could invest that money if we could reliably claim the money was spent on sponsoring the ground or whatever.

But in terms of the current Spurs and Levy, we do plough all money back into the football team and do spend what we bring in, and have spent huge sums of money on "fees + wages".
