Emmanuel Adebayor - Officially gone \o/

Anyone referring to their Mother as Mom has no credibility in my book.

They may have been screwing him for whatever they could, but has he no common sense ?

Shift him out. And soon.

I don't know - I'm actually starting to feel sorry for him. I don't know what kind of upbringing he's had or what he's experienced living in a country like Togo - sounds like he's been through a lot. Keep in mind, I'm trying to seperate Ade the person and Ade the footballer here.

it could go some way to explain his erratic form over the years. it's obviously something which affects him deeply

For a long time I wondered whether he was under duress due to his home situation. Indeed, I said as much several times here. I never got the hatefest on him beyond what he was being paid. There are others who have been far worse IMO. This all makes me sad really. Of course there will be the usual folk who say he should separate his life from his work, and I don't disagree that we all have to try and do that from time to time if brick hits the fan...but in all honesty, if this is the sheer weight of brick which has been on his shoulders, then it will be very very tough to perform. Note, for anyone who thinks he is making excuses, consider the fact that he is basically committing a form of career suicide as no-one will want to touch him for 'big money' once this contract runs out given the issues he suffers. A sad story.

Yeah his version certainly sounds like a story I've heard from a few people who not just came into wealth but moved abroad and were deemed wealthy for that reason alone - that would start the requests for money (that they didn't actually have).

Does put some context to his attitude and form.

Not sure Facebook is the place to vent but I guess he wants it out because he is being judged.

Still prefer him out of the club purely for the karma his current presence may spread.

If he's genuinely serious about having considered committing suicide in the past, then I'd suggest that there are far more important things to do than just getting him off our wage bill. Getting him some help, if he's open to it, should be top of the club's list as far as I'm concerned, with shifting him a distant second.

He's a streaky, erratic and downright infuriating footballer....but he's also a human being, and far from an awful one. It doesn't matter how much he's earning or how flash his gear is, if he's talking publicly about suicide, I'm f*cking concerned, and I really hope that the club sits him down with someone who can help him out before making a hasty decision on cutting him loose. That isn't a matter we should leave to chance, ever.

We should - of course - remember that this is *his* side of the story. All the same, if half of what he says is true, then the whole thing sounds like a nightmare.

But that doesn't take away from the fact that facebook is not the place to air your family's dirty laundry. Others are free to disagree with that, but it's just how I feel. On top of that; it seems clear that no matter whose fault it is, Adebayor is clearly not focussed on his football and being the best player he can be for Tottenham Hotspur Football Club. And for that reason alone, the sooner he leaves the better.

Yes it could, I also think that a few of real haters can not get over the fact he played for the Arse.

I don't think it's that as I'm pretty sure most of them didn't mind Billy Gallas. I think it's more to do with the fact that he's never been as good for us (or anyone) as he was for them.

I think he made his antipathy towards WoolArse clear when celebrating his goal for City.

For me it's always been how his lazyness all too frequently masked his undoubted talent. Combined later with his intransigence on moves to someone else where he might play rather than scrounge.

Not sure about that at all, unfortunately I know some fans that never liked either of them ( because of the Arse link) as soon as they came here, there are always a few idiots who feel that way.

I never got the level of anger towards Ade, as ive said before there have been far greater wastes of time, money and ability over the years. Bentley, Soldado, Armstrong etc

Knowing a few people from that part of the world, have no problem believing the story esp as he seemed to give a lot to charity, im sure the family were on his back that it should go to them. As for posting it on facebook, if Gary Speed had maybe it would have opened up that conversation earlier and had a different outcome.

Im sure nobody wants to see Gazza in the state he has ended up, however i have the feeling with Ade whatever has been going on in the background has finally come to a head and somebody will step in from the club if only to protect their own interests

The problem was that his sister apparently went on a radio show and absolutely slated him for around and hour and told all sorts of things to the world.

I have had people in my family go through tough times and struggle to focus on work and I completely empathise with him. I think the whole situation is tragic really

What would you do differently?

I'd ban all the liberal fannies in this thread that are making out Ade is the victim lol ;)

'Poor Ade, knew there was something behind it, Poor Ade, must be hard having a family like that'.. AAAARRRGGGHHH. lol

I think my head will explode!
