Emmanuel Adebayor - Officially gone \o/

Re: Official - Adebayor

By way of comparison:

Spurs are ‘very interested’ in Sevilla striker Carlos Bacca, according to the normally-reliable Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Italian journalist says Atletico Madrid are also keen on the Colombian but Sevilla have reportedly slapped a €20m (£15.7m) asking price on his head.

Bacca was superb in La Liga last season, bagging 14 goals in 35 league appearances, which saw him named the best signing of the 2013/14 season by Spanish daily Marca (ahead of a certain Welshman).

Does Bacca get paid in the region of £200k per week and only play when he fancies it?

Re: Official - Adebayor

Ade no longer is on much over 70k from what I have read.

So we paid far less for him than soldado. We pay them both about the same and based on their returns adebayor is the one that should take the most flack?

Baffling.

The only issue for me is the late return from the ANC. It was a time when we really needed him and he let the club down. I do hope he has changed but it was an unforgivable ****take at the time.

Re: Official - Adebayor

Probably not, but I don't see any players in our ranks that we've paid 200k a week to. Your point is largely irrelevant.
I think we'll have to wait until the end of the summer to find out what we're paying him.

I'm pretty sure he'll either agitate for a move or we'll hear that he's signed a new contract for some ridiculous wage.

soldados form is pretty level, ade is a unrecognisable from the man whom Harry signed on loan

Re: Official - Adebayor

I really can't see why so many are hitting at Ade. Apart for that African cup thing, he's done nothing wrong since he joined us. Can't really question his work rate either, as he's worked his socks off most of the games, running like his ass was on fire and chasing down the ball.

Exhibit 1 - I give you season 2012/2013

So it's ok to be consistently ****, but if you're sometimes **** and sometimes excellent it's not ok?

He looked like the same old adebayor last year, top scorer with a decent goal to game ratio. Have to take into account he's playing in a worse team than he was on his loan period.

Re: Official - Adebayor

Ade's minutes per goal record has been consistently the same under multiple managers now, the only outlier was under AVB.

if you are consistently ****, then you are just ****, you can't help it

if you are ****ing awesome for 6 months then ****ing **** for a year, then ****ing awesome for 1 game every 12 then you have an attitude problem and need to pull your finger out

he's got the physique and ability to be winning games single handedly

Lets be honest if he was as good as he can be all season long he wouldnt be with us, so just boils down to what would you rather have....

I'd rather have someone we can rely on to be good so then at least we can adapt the team/formation around their weaknesses. If we don't know whether our striker will be great or terrible then we can't.

More than either of those, I'd like someone good with the potential to be great (like Bale, Modric, Berbatov, Carrick) who we can at least make money on if they do turn out to be above our level.

Re: Official - Adebayor

I agree scara. But I have a soft spot for ade, not sure why. Also he can play not just in the main striker role but potentially any of the fluid three positions behind...

On his day he's probably a good keeper too but we don't have a team with enough players to take the slack when he's trapping the ball 10yds and passing at the subs bench.
