Dominic Solanke

That second goal. Kane-esque!!

See, that's what happens when we get the ball close to the penalty box and feed him!!
Good balance to score that second too.

MORE PLEASE!!

He never stops the unselfish running and will happily buffet into any centre half on teh off-chance that one of his team mates will gain an advantage.
For sure we need to keep feeding him. We agree that we have some issues with creativity wide. But I maintain that it's still fairly early in this season, his first season here. Let's see how we do in the coming weeks and months.

When we signed him i must admit i was a bet underwhelmed but he has been great since coming here. The amount of running he does off the ball is first class and his workrate is amazing. Long may it continue that way.

I was actively complaining. I saw that he had the most first time miscontrols (I can’t remember exact terminology) of any player in the Premier League last season and it made me seriously question whether he was the right player to be signing. Then he did sign and as he was with us, I got right behind him. And he has proved me completely wrong to have ever been doubting him. Now I’m very happy that we signed him and wouldn’t have wanted us to sign any other striker.

He works harder than any other striker. He is capable of scoring goals like that against Villa. He remains confident and works hard even in a time when things hadn’t been going for him and people might have questioned his lack of goals. He has great character, he works hard and he’s one of our’s, so looking forward to seeing him achieve a lot with us during his time here.

The one guy that will be very happy is Tuchel.

Kane has not really been in his prime for his country for a while, and isn't a 90 mins player anymore, also considering the domestic toll on his body. You'll get these amazing moments of quality with Kane but you'll never again get what we're currently getting with Solanke. Dominic is in the game all the time and relieves so much pressure on his team mates with that amazing work ethic. The question marks were his finishing and he is starting to silence his doubters there.

There could easily be a time where the all round package of Solanke nudges ahead of a few world class attributes of an ageing Kane. Sharing duties across the 90 mins should be a given at this point though.

I was happy with the signing, but he's been better than I expected.

The impression of him will depend on how many goals he scores, which will depend on the service he gets. But he seems to me a quality player.

Will be interesting to see if he can push on even further from here.

Another great finish. Keep 'em coming big Dom:cool:

On the beeb's report it said "a tap in from Solanke", bit of a drab way to describe what was a super creative and well executed finish!

Let's hope he can get us some goals in the latter stages of some cups this season. I appreciate there's no point worrying about what hasn't happened but we really don't want him to pick up any knocks / injuries for crucial games what with Richy not being able to maintain fitness - For once I can't moan about squad depth, it's just that the cover is rarely available...
