Djed Spence

Difference being that Spence is clearly a player Ange rates. And imo Spence is a player that clearly suits this system whereas Reguilon quite clearly doesn't.

Time will tell if we ever have the three of them fully fit at the same time. I think people underestimate Porro a bit and also underestimate how important his passing is to us.
I agree, I only mean in giving Porro a rest sometimes

I’d like to see him on the right because that’s his normal side

Would be interesting but someone commented that almost all wide/wingers cut inside now, which mean when they turn in on Spence in the LB role, they turn in to his stronger side?

Either way, he should see plenty of game time, he's earned it.

True
But Imagine if we had 2 right backs and 2 left backs
Instead we have him and a very very tired Porro
It catches up with players

Also, imagine an environment where a new manager comes in and makes wrong judgments some of the time.

What manager hasn't in the history of football?

Ange has definitely made his fair share.

This isn’t about Ange
It’s about squad planning in the whole

It's about the utilisation of Djed by Ange over the manager's entire tenure. Some will think that Ange has managed the situation beautifully. I'm not one of those but do accept the Emerson Royal complexity. Ironically, Emerson barely played RB last season and had to do all his work for the team at centre half and left back. Davies has barely been seen at LB whereas Porro and Udogie have been pushed to lots of time in the red zone.

There was potentially another path to take leveraging Djed more.

Not my debate TBH
My issues is we have 3 full backs as a club
3
We should have 4

It would be criminal to drop Djed for any reason but fatigue/injury.

This might be region locked but it's a decent highlight video. I definitely thought Djed was one of the standouts deserving of MotM. He just made it look so easy. Smart, efficient football.

The payroll and the roster says 4, but I think it is OK to add the 5th when you can see an exit strategy for one. It would have been nice to bring one in for January. They could then assimilate between now and end of season and then hit the ground running next season. I reckon there is an adjustment period between joining and playing for a full-back because of Ange's system. Obviously, the upside is if they get the tactical system quickly and get involved.

The roster doesn’t
The pay roll does.. assuming you mean Reggie, but he is not a player any manager here and wanted for 3 years so doesn’t count as an option IMO
He is a warm body and a training cone (like conte used to use players for)

I think in this case it’s just a poor choice of words and probably not worth delving in any deeper.

However as you said it’s clear that until maybe that Southampton game, he wasn’t getting much of a look in until he was forced to.

It will be interesting to see what happens once Udogie is back, imo Spence is superior option as a right back than Porto. How he is used moving forward will be interesting.
I wouldn't mind some minutes with Porro playing ahead of Spence down the right tbh.

Especially with the lack of options there in the short term. We know Porro can deliver a ball in.

Plus those two are a bundle of energy.

Doesn't work that way for me. A Spurs managers job is to fully utilise the squad he is given between transfer windows. Because they often don't, it brings us so many issues over the years.

Most of the teams that we've played against in the EL and domestic cups, Reggie would walk into. He would also get into a lot of the bottom half PL teams. That means he's no liability. He was actually a very able deputy for Rico Henry last season.

He's definitely not elite though.
