So someone who talks brick.Poseidon
Long time ITK
No idea who @spursjourno is as a source.
But wouldn’t this leave us short at RB? Not sure I want that to be an area we have to focus on.
Who the fudge is Spurs Journo?
Well obviously we’d need to buy a new one but why when Spence is good enough, given our other pressing requirements?Well we would buy a new one. He may also want Gray at RB.

And no, Gray might be OK as occasional cover but he shouldn’t be a RB back-up.
We'd also have about 35 overseas players for those 17 squad places, and no homegrown ones left for the other 8 spots
So someone who talks brick.
Why would anyone want Gray at RB?
He really doesn't, has filled in and been 'ok' and nothing more.Because he plays well there and we’re about to spend £175M+ on Centre Mids.

Many of our players are not.Spence is not good enough for where we want to be.
Many of our players are not.
But the club clearly see Porro as no. 1 in that spot so Spence as his back up far from horrendous, for the time being.
True but there is also a need to cash in on players to fund squad building. Spence wont ever have a higher value than he does right now.
Because Spence is lazy and RDZ doesn’t want lazy players.Well obviously we’d need to buy a new one but why when Spence is good enough, given our other pressing requirements?

That is a good point and i agree, England player at the moment so cashing in may be the right choice.
Yet a lot of you will be the first ones complaining if Porro gets injured in the first week of September and Gray is exposed ..... why did the club not get cover blah blah blah.
Gray isn't a full back anymore than he is a CF. We could cash in on Solanke and try Gray as Richi's back up!!
Spence is a perfectly good squad player. I get some of you don't like him (although you maintain that is objective and not personal feelings) but selling him and sticking an inexperienced kid in the wrong position is just nuts. So glad you guys are only on a forum and have no input to reality.
Yeah. I get it’s all a balancing act. If we have the funds for a back up RB as well as other positions (or is there a youngster lurking? Don’t think there is but I don’t have much knowledge there) then fair enough. Otherwise we can get by with Spence for another year.True but there is also a need to cash in on players to fund squad building. Spence wont ever have a higher value than he does right now.
