There's been loads of players we've been linked with over the years that we've supposedly been close to signing. None of us know if they were true or not or how close to being done or not they were. But if you want to believe you know exactly what goes on each step of the way in these deals knock yourself out

I think you can get a sense of which are genuine links we are pursuing (about 15% of names) and which are purely media/agent generated (about 85%).

The ones we are genuinely pursuing tend to get there (we'd be warned off early if there was little hope). It's just because they take so long, things that need engagement for revenue have to make up twists and turns that aren't there at all

I'm completely sure we'll sign Spence in the next few weeks. It will be spun as a 'fresh swoop', but in reality he's probably already moved down and we're just waiting for him to get back from holiday to do the photo shoot
 
This went from "medical booked in for today" reported this morning to "Spurs didn't send their offer in" only a few hours ago.

Impressive!
 
So how good is Spence, 15m for a player who's never played in a top division is quite a fee.

Seems like a good price to me? How much were Bowen, Eze, Olise, Cash, all signed for? Don’t think any of them had played Prem football before either.

It was the Mirror who claimed it was agreed and a medical due, was then claimed by the usual journos that there’s been no bid or agreement.

Think the talk now is that Paratici is in Italy as another RWB option has developed.
