Andy Thompson
I think hes been in and out of the side and hasnt yet found his stride.
Not unreasonable, IMO.
Not unreasonable, IMO.
Dont think he is having a good season, is it second season blues do we think.
The is a player in there, think we are going to have to wait for him to mature.
Not worried about this guy .. yes he has a lot of learning to do (what CB doesn't at his age), but the potential is obvious.
Keep learning from Jan & Toby, adapt to the PL, deal with being targeted, he'll be better for it.
All you have to do is compare him with every CB we have had between King/Woodgate and now (minus Jan/Toby obviously) and see how good he is.
He's only 22 still a baby for a CB.Hope he's still with us in 5 years!
We need to see that working out before the end of next season. Accelerated progress necessary. And figure out who's 3rd and 4th CB who I hope will be from the academy.Yea crystal ball time, but I think in 2/3 years time a Foyth - Sanchez partnership could be something special.
It's almost like our manager knows more about defenders than strikersHuge player. Will inevitably suffer with some games, learning to deal with players like Mitrovic who is an absolute animal. Thought he adjusted very well in that game. 22 years old, all these experiences will do him the world of good. Can't be too many 22 year olds who have played in as many top class games as him.
Foyth was also exceptional against Palace. I have a lot of faith in the both of them. It's one area of recruitment where we have been brilliant.

Playing against a striker who has bullied him a few times in the past and getting the better of him.Today was an ideal game for him. Playing against a single rather limited striker who is fast but not lightning fast and strong but not brute strong. His real tests will come in more challenging games.
You keep a top five of muscle bound males?..I don't think there's many stronger forwards in the Prem than Rondon. He'd be in my top five for sure.
