Daniel Levy - Former Chairman

I was critical of Levy but would have loved it to have worked out under him. He played by the financial rules put in place but as we have seen, flouting them meant nothing ultimately. We aren’t part of a multi club system that seem to be springing up everywhere, so with him at the helm we at least held our own identity.

I heard on the Lab podcast (up to each individual listener to believe it) that ENIC had been willing to sell to the Qataris and that Joe Lewis wasn't willing to sell from under Levy as they have a good relationship, and let’s face it Levy had made them a lot of money. When it came to negotiating, Levy had been the blocker, stalling and dragging out discussions to the point the Qataris withdrew. This part sounds familiar and in keeping.

Now I know this is all speculation and it’s based on one persons testimony on a podcast. However, I have a feeling that in the medium term the plan of ENIC is to sell the club, potentially to the Qataris again. Highly doubt they would have Levy as a figurehead if the above is true.

All sounds plausible tbh, price won't be going up just though with the state we're on in.

It was Levy who is close to the Qataris. He's good pals with the PSG guy

Well it's probably a bit like the quality player that winds the hell out of the opposition, but they'd have him in their side all day long.

Levy cared about the club, it was a life project for him, anyone who goes after that part is just being disengenous, I do however understand he was the brunt of the frustrations most fans felt with us not taking that next step.

I think current situation is exposing he was working within limitations imposed on him, that he had to squeeze every last penny out to keep the model.

I personally think he kept us safe (Frank would have been gone by now and we would have figured out how to give new manager a couple of players).

He remains a shareholder, so would be an obvious person to partner with for any potential takeover, I wouldn't want to be these nepo babies trying to negociate against Levy about Spurs ... hahaha, would be worht price of admission.

Now, I have always been a supporter of levy.
Yes he made mistakes but I believe he had the best interests of the club at heart and that he worked under constraints put in place by ENIC.
However I do believe he did more good than bad.

Purely as a discussion point, if a buy out either led by levy or a new buyer came in and reinstated levy would we get behind it?

Absolutely not. What’s done is done. We need someone running the club who knows football.

The hate was simply a money thing.

If he could say 'yes' to everything.... minimal noise. (Childish innit)

He couldn't, as he was under budget constraints (assumingly from the owners) and we spent what we earned.

Remove all that and he returned with a new owner with money to burn, then yes, it would be ridiculous not to have him running the business side and the football governance/corporate side as his track record, along with gawd knows how many years of experience, stands up against anyone.

Levy is waiting for relegation....buy us for 300m.

If you were going to takeover a PL club and plow £Bs into it, would you rather entrust one of the most connected people in European football, a man who knows how to extract maximum turnover from a club, a man asked to represent the PL by other PL clubs, and who turned a club from £50M into £3B,

or would you rather:
