Daniel Levy - Former Chairman

Here's a question.

If a major player leaves THFC we want him on the middle of that pitch before the match and he will get a deserved standing ovation for his service.

Should we expect Levy to be reeled out to the home crowd any time soon?

For those who are loyally on Levy's side....how do you feel now, knowing that even the majority owners wanted Levy out?

I've wanted new owners for a while.
If the lewis family want to sell they probably want their people in charge of the deal and not levy. For obvious reasons.

But there’s no reason why that could not have been the case even with Levy still being Chairman. Up to the owners (Lewis family as majority) to decide who will lead negotiations. It didn’t have to be Levy.

Probably not, but his testimonial game will be interesting

Really interesting interview with BMJ about Levy - this is probably one of the most in-depth pieces Ally Gold had put out in a long time. Lots of great insights into how Levy worked, by someone who worked with him for three-odd years.

Highly recommend giving it a read, and a click (despite the terrible website he writes for). Above all else, it's just good to hear from BMJ again, and glad he's well and still as direct and engaging as ever. :)

Still got his house in Chigwell too

No
He isn’t a player
He hasn’t performed on the pitch

In statistics there is no "winning of arguments" mate.... this is called an interrupted time series analysis which requires reasonably equal time periods before and after the intervention being analysed. I understand it may not be music to the Levy out critics but the analysis is clear.... Levy took a team in decline, which could potentially ended up relegated based on the trends, and turned it into a consistent top 6 team....
This is hilarious, because they saw numbers that showed a contrary view of the pre Levy era they didn't like that and they are attacked you because they think you're critiquing Levy when in fact you're pro Levy and backing him.

You couldn't make it up.

I think your description of what contributes to "ridiculous back and forths" is rather one sided.

The narrative from some here, in the meda and elsewhere in the Spurs community seems to be Levy did really well on the business side, not so well on the football side.

Some, including me on here, are saying that we also improved a lot under him on the football side. In part as a result of what he did on the business side, but also other factors.

I think the biggest difference of opinion comes down to trophies and to what extent trophies are the measure of how well we do on the football side.
Trophies are the only measure of football success.

You can enjoy football without them if course but let's not pretend you're successful without them. We play the game to win, win enough games and you win trophies. Period.

This is interesting because Jol does sort of paint Levy as the caricature most do. And it’s an opinion you have to take somewhat seriously because he did work for the man for 3 years.

The Suarez story has always been mad to me. Who on earth said that he was a similar player to VDV?

Pretty sure it was Clive Allen and Tim Sherwood who scouted Suarez

It's up to the board to hear negotiations for a full sale? They can do a deal to sell their own shares but not the club as a whole. That deal would have to be presented to all shareholders by the board then voted on by the shareholders. As with cain hoy.

Or have i got that wrong?
