That is a great point mate, lets not put extra pressusre on a very young boy. Having worked with young players at that level they can get carried away at times. And they need to be handled with care and not let the headlines get to them.

I guess the first 76 years there were no subs. Then in the next 66 years there have been 1 sub all the way up to 5 subs.

Still seems low. As an example, England cricket team started caps in 1877 and are up to 718. You'd think they'd be way more players played for Spurs.

That’s the best explanation. 5 subs only came in around 1998 from memory, 2 subs in 1993. We played 4446 competitive matches before that, all limited to 11 or 12 players, with much smaller squads.

Factor in 2 World Wars and players did not move around as much as today or go on loan.

Ajayi's goal is more repeatable, Rose's was a spank like you say and he never got close to hitting a ball that cleanly again.
