It still bothers me that even if he was given permission to go ( which should never have been given ) he decided the timing was right and went anyway.

Let's face it. He came back because of the backlash only.

That's not the kind of leader I want as my teams captain.
 
I’m pretty sure he’s not the only me of our injured players who has sought their own medical team, especially given the injury crisis’ our medical have oversaw the last three years. I would have thought that Romero had enough money to fly them here though, at least until the season was done.

Who knows what will happen this summer. Good World Cup and someone could come in for him, not going to be cheap though after that new contract last year. Do think his reputation is an issue in England. Every week there seems to be a ‘if that was Romero he’d have hit a red’ type incident

I don’t blame the club, because they’re never going to be seen to be in any way denying a player what they need to get ready for a World Cup. The point for me is that Romero shouldn’t have asked, shouldn’t have put the club in this position, and it was right that he came back.

I don’t think it would have made a difference to the result, but what it says about our captain being willing to do that is not good.
