Cristian Romero

Senesi is left footed and would be a VDV alternate... Romero's logical would be Vuskovic...
This left foot or right foot argument when it comes to cb's is overly brought up IMO. Although preferable to have a right/left combo in the pairing, most of the best partnerships have been right/right mainly due to their being a higher percentage of right-footed players.

And massively depends on two-footedness and how the positional brain works. You see a lot of top defenders who can tackle off either foot. As an example Dragusin didn't look right on the left whereas Romero and Danso seem to be OK there. I noticed that Dragusin doesn't always get the purchase when he puts his left foot through the ball. He can do it, but cannot guarantee it like other defenders.

Also, where exactly has Vuskovic been playing? I thought he was on the left in that setup.

He is one of my favorite players in the current squad (tbh it's a pretty low bar though) because he has a little bit of that old school centre-back nastiness about him as well as being a maverick too.

I believe a lot of the negativity on here about him is due to him not being a traditional English-style CB. He's not the blood-and-thunder, chest out type but more of a quiet, calculating assassin who is curiously better on the ball than without it.

But in a truly big game, such as the EL Final, there is just about no other CB in the world I would rather have on the pitch than Romero.

Saying that, I do believe his card has been marked so if we were offered 60ml and he wanted to leave I would wish him the best and cash in.
I think Romero is definitely marked but it's not as if people can really contest most of his stupidness. Some of his challenges are completely pointless.

I think he is a top class defender when he wants to be, but we can't be hoping he won't get sent off today. Shows he can't be relied on.

Same and I think after the 4/5 years we have had him we need to reinvent the side. If we knew we were getting Senesi 100% as a club, I would not be against selling both MVDV and Romero, having Senesi replace MVDV for free and investing some of the joint funds on a new RCB. That would leave plenty to reinvent in other areas that we massively need it (and thats before additional sale)

Would be surprised if that was genuine on many levels? Why would he commit to us right now when our future is uncertain at the moment, and why would he be travelling to Spurs on a Thursday when they have an important game Saturday...
