Coronavirus

There is something very odd going on with the data/reporting of it.

At present the UK death is 7 to 10% above average. Sounds bad, covid is to blame.
Take into account hospitals and doctors effectively being closed for six months, alcohol consumption at home growing, mental health issues rocketing amongst other things and maybe the picture isn't as simple as is being made out.

Pretty sure I read somewhere around 18k deaths have been as a result of lockdown so far.

that’s the lockdown ratheR than covid - which I imagine is a large chunk of that number.

6 more months of this back and forth and we will see dreadful rises in drink drugs and mental health issues

Winter months to boot, long dark lonely nights, no mid winter break at Christmas, less time outdoors, less money but still kids Christmas to buy.
This is heading for a total fudge up.

I said it a couple of weeks ago, deaths go up in winter, scare stories will start.

Can't really put that on the govt.

They've opened the cinemas but nobody is releasing films.

Due to restrictions in place on numbers and closing times.

i fully accept I’m Part of the issue, I’m not going all the time I have to wear a mask

One would almost think that there is a deliberate attempt to overplay the numbers....slowly, more and more academics and politicians are starting to question lockdown policies - and not just here as the protests in Spain, Germany and other countries showing...

I remember a lot of people on here praising Ireland who started on a similar trajectory to the UK and locked down at a similar time, their scientists have recommended another 4 week lockdown.

Spain started double testing a few weeks ago.

Any scientist that recommends this as an option should be sacked on the spot.

It's coming. A two or three week 'circuit breaker' around the half term holidays, I reckon. They will be desperate to get the numbers down to allow some sort of Christmas to happen.

Makes me wonder just how odd our family Christmases are.

Thankfully my parents are dead. The wife's family is mainly in Ireland and I would rather cut my c*ck off and eat it then drive to Dorset to see my sister. The lad opens his presents. We go for a walk along the seafront and then have dinner.

What exactly do other people do for Christmas?

Watch the Queens speech, have Christmas Dinner and a go for a walk along the seafront looking for someone who will cut their own c*ck off and eat it.
Dorset is a bit of a trek, fancy meeting half way?
