With real pace options in the attacking 3rd, the ability of teams doing what Stoke did to us yesterday, i.e. pushing so many players back and pushing so high up the pitch to compress us in our own half without fear of the ball over the top or out wide to pace, should be nullified and actually turned to our advantage.

Indeed, that interview with a lifelong Lyon fan* said he is very very raw, just learning his trade, will take a long time to settle, could come good as he is a good player but is not the finished article by a long shot.

You are right I should know better then to ask for patience from some fans, i despair some time at the way fans have to abuse players ( sometimes when they have not even seen the games)
 
That's the trouble with having millions of fans, there is always going to be a vocal minority shouting away on both extremes of any debate.

You could probably find some shouty ignoramus claiming we should play Kane at right back if you look hard enough.
 
I should add that yesterday I went to Hurley Regatta near Henley. There was a strange mix of very wealthy and quite poor people. I saw 3 kids and 1 adult in football tops. 3 Spurs and 1 Barcelona. And today I had the extreme fortune to be at Swindon Outlet Centre and saw a man in a Spurs top. But I am yet to see any other team's shirt this weekend. Sadly I feel a twinge of embarrassment seeing a grown adult in a replica shirt, rather than pride. But it makes a change from seeing Ar.senil shirts and Cheats shirts
 
I have a friend that is a Monaco fan. Lives in France. He said that our new guy had 6 good months at Lyon. He said it would have been better for him to stay one more year and then go to Tottenham. He is still learning his trade. Don't expect too much too soon.

Intersting. What does your friend say about Martial as a Monaco fan out of interest, in comparison to N'Jie?
 
Says Martial has a different style to Njie.

Martial - Henry ( all rounder)
Njie - Townsend ( commits players and runs a lot)

Martial was only good for the last 6 months. He has been injured to.
