*** CL MD4 OMT Tottenham Hotspur v FC Copenhagen ***

As we've got a bit of time

Can someone explain to my why the below par attacking football seen this season is a result of the managers poor tactics/managing us like a smaller team

But the poor attacking play seen last season wasn't the result of the managers poor tactics/managing us like a smaller team

Especially in the context of the former manager having an attacking philosophy, playing high up the pitch and not having to instill his philosophy in stages?

Is there different metric for sideways passes, poor movement and no inventiveness now then before?

This is a genuine question, as by my eyes the football has been no worse or better attacking wise then it was all last season.

Liking the look of that team. I’ve calmed down after Chelsea, I think tonight will be the start of us showing what we can do going forward. We won’t be as bad as Saturday again.

Can’t wait to revisit this post after the game.
I'm hoping we can look back at that game as rock bottom and the turning point. Not expecting anything amazing, but some actual passing moves would be nice - get a bit of confidence going into the weekend game which is a big one. COYS....

Copenhagen never won in 9 previous visits to England.

I know we have no devine right to win any game, but seriously, if we lose tonight I will be seriously p#ssed off

The 27 other threads discussing this isn't enough??

A proactive system that isn’t functioning will look poor going both ways, as will a reactive one.

There’s going to be moments where Frank’s Tottenham cut teams open at pace and it’s going to look brilliant. There were obviously moments where Ange’s team couldn’t string two passes together. But if a system is functioning, then it’s about the principles of how the coach wants to play, their theory of why they will win. What strengths they will look to emphasise, how will they train and sign players to generate advantages from those strengths.

I’d ask you to cast your mind back to the beginning of last season, and the 3 and 4 goal wins we were putting up, and how we were playing generally, those are the principles of Ange more in action.

Decent start, but we're already showing signs of not wanting to pass more progressively despite having pockets to play into or even run into. Oh well, it'll come.
