Also, how much do you expect to get for Fazio and Townsend? Personally, I'd be surprised if it was enough to get a top quality Kane replacement.

We were supposed to have offered 20 plus for Berahinho. Add Townsend and Fazio fees and salaries and we should be able to spend up to say 40m. This is a key signing for us IMO.dont waste it.

£5m Fazio, £2m Carroll (out of contract in June) and £12-14m for Townsend IMO.

£10m plus for Townsend would feel like daylight robbery but we did get £8m for Livermore

Sorry. I thought that you meant that we should sell Townsend and Fazio and use that to sign a striker. I could see that happening. I see no chance of us spending £40m on a striker in January and I do not think that a £40m striker would be willing to come to us as an understudy.

Kane has played 10 for us and looked good there. It's a viable alternative and option hence why we have played him there

If Poch brought in a player like Berahino who can also play #9, #10 and wide, I could see him starting both and have them switching throughout the game. It is something he does now with Lamela, Son and Chadli sometimes leading whilst Kane wanders.

Eh? There were public proclamations by Allofs to that effect, but the latest news is that Basel have put their foot down and refused to consider selling him in January, with the player comfortable with this as well.
