Christian Eriksen

Great goal, still not at his best yet, him and son look like they are knackered.
Running on adrenalin for the big games, but looking tired in these games.

I do love him but I will not for the life of me understand why he cant get a ball over the first man at a corner or over a wall for a free kick, I understand he wants to keep it low to make the ball difficult to defend against but you would think he would get the odd one over.

Take the Burnley late goal and this one and that is 6 points that this under-performing, never-shows-up-when-it-matters, down-tools-off-to-Barca lazy git has contributed. Don't even get me started on how many assists he COULD have had as each one of those is statistically wiped off his record for every corner or free kick that hits the first man.

Inter at home.

I'm getting hopeful we can sign eriksen up on a new contract. Would be massive!

Champions league semi final. New stadium. Club in top three in the league the last three seasons, and there now. If we offer the right contract then I can’t see why he wouldn’t stay.

Yeah. As with Toby though, we need to be able to compete with other clubs in terms of wages one way or another. Not sure we're quite there yet, but hopefully there are other factors involved as well. Hopefully both him and his family are well settled in England.

I don’t understand why we don’t try the old Anderton - Sheringham corner routine more.

I don’t think we are far away financially from big changes. We now have the infrastructure in place. I think that Levy has previous made comments which could be interpreted that next level changes are coming. Record profits this year go some way to suggesting that as a club we are ready for the next step.

Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen is prepared to talk about extending his contract - but not until the end of the season, says boss Mauricio Pochettino.

The 27-year-old Denmark midfielder, linked with a move to Real Madrid, scored a spectacular 88th-minute winner as Spurs beat Brighton 1-0 on Tuesday.

His contract expires at the end of next season and so far he has held off committing to a new deal.

"I hope and wish Christian can be with us in the future," said Pochettino.

"I think Christian and us, we are so open to talk and we will see what happens.

"It's a situation that's a very special one and Christian is a special person. The timing for him or for the club to be agreeing something is maybe different to another player.

"It's so close to the end of the season and there's a lot of time to talk afterwards. The most important thing now, not only for him, is for all the players to be focused and try to achieve the things we want."

Tottenham are in the semi-finals of the Champions League and will qualify for next year's tournament if they become European champions.

However, if they fail to do that then they could still qualify for the 2019-20 competition as long as they finish in the top four of the Premier League.

Eriksen's goal against Brighton, a low strike from 25 yards, kept Tottenham third, three points clear of fourth-placed Chelsea with three league games left.

"We're in a position now that is in our hands to be in the top four," added Pochettino. "If we are capable of winning the next three games in the Premier League then we will be third."

Realistically - unless he's just in it for the money, which I don't think he is - there aren't many clubs that would be a step up for him. Chelski and Manure are a shambles. Arse - well, that won't happen. City or Liverpool are the only possible options in the PL (obviously), but the gap between them and us isn't massive. Then there's Barca or Real. Possibly Juventus. I can't see any other options.

You have to consider though the position we're in. There's every possibility we can grow further in the coming seasons, and be serious contenders in the PL and possibly the CL (maybe we already are?). He knows his role, the manager, his teammates - some of who are extremely gifted. He's a successful player in a young, talented team who are pushing forward under a great manager in the best fudging stadium in England. There are many reasons for him to stay. You know what you have, but not what you'll get.

Then again; it's a big, big decision for him. He's entering his prime. This could be his last big contract, his last opportunity for a big club transfer. Of course he will be weighing all his options. I just hope he concludes that his future is with Spurs.

It's realistically the Spanish clubs, Barca don't need him, Real are going after Hazard and probably a striker.

My opinion, if Real come knocking he'll go, if not and we have CL next season, he'll stay and sign.

This sounds extremely positive. Great news.

I really hope he signs but I am a bit sceptical, he will lose a lot of freedom and agency by doing so. I don't think Barca are going to say no to him on a free the summer after this one. Who would say no to such a high quality player for free. I agree this summer they might not want to pay a fee for him.

Need to ensure he feels loved. Everyone knows the Alli song, so it gets sung a few times every game. Eriksen-sen-sen needs to be sung with passion - get him on board.

Eriksen, sen, sen; He’s our number 23.

Eriksen, sen, sen; He's a Yid like you and me.

To the left to the right; He’s our midfield Dynamite.

When he plays for the Lilywhites; He makes Özil look brick.

Arsenal fan on Arse-mania last night said he'd gladly give £60m plus Ozil for Eriksen. Obviously would never happen, perish the thought, but I can't imagine Poch wanting much to do with Ozil.
