Spur of the moment
Frederic Kanoute
Every player brings something different to the table. Eriksen may have longer spells when he's struggling for form than others, but I'd venture he also has longer spells when he's not. It's called exaggerating for effect, it's quite a normal part of daily language. I could have said Kane, Verts and Alderweireld do their jobs much more frequently and switch off from doing their jobs for far shorter periods than Eriksen but that is a long sentence and sometimes I like to write without referring to some logic harpy on my shoulder. I still stand behind Kane, Verts and Alderweireld being more consistent than Eriksen and consistency and reliability being the hallmarks of the truly great players - Ronaldo and Messi for instance.
Not only that but even when he's struggling he still comes up with key passes and assists as well as the odd belter, and there is never a game when he doesn't put in a shift. Even when he looks like he's chasing shadows he's still clocking up the miles.
