Christian Eriksen

This current universal and well-deserved acclaim for Eriksen makes such a welcome change from the harsh and persistent tone of negativity voiced by a certain minority last Autumn.

Some of us were insisting all along that despite his run of poor form his overall contributions were still pivotal to the team. I'd like to believe that his detractors now accept that poor form is all it ever was - but sadly I'm cynical enough not to hold my breath on that one.

Did you notice that this season his form got better as his hair grew thicker?

I think he just changed the product he was using to a more 'body' generating type.

He's receding to forma a widows peak. Which at his age is premature hair loss. Rooney's however proves it isn't worth blowing big cash on regrowth, he's back to being bald again.

This is what he has written in his blog :
I'm disappointed for Spurs. They're the team I enjoyed watching this season more than any other, but sadly a poor January cost them. My fear for this group (modern day phraseology!) is that they might never get any closer. I'm with Tim Sherwood - I just can't see them winning a title out of Wembley. Walker is leaving this summer, Eriksen could just as easily go as well and if he does - then what?

Why do I believe he might leave? Well, because it would follow a long standing 'Daniel Levy' transfer pattern. Historically he's always sold a player for the best price - that means at the top of their game and at the right age. He's had Ross Barkley ear-marked as a replacement for some time now, but after a recent meeting with Barkley's representatives in London I'm told Spurs aren't as convinced as they were. Watch this space.....

I don't see any other 'short term' departures - but another season from now I think there'll definitely be significant movement.

Lazy, lazy, lazy. Can't even call it journalism.
And as soon as he says "I'm with Tim Sherwood..." well, you know there is rubbish to follow.

It's interesting though, looking through our outgoing transfers since clambel left, the only ones that IMO weakened us substantially was Carrick and Berbatov to Manure, and Modric and Bale to Real Madrid. All four sold to clubs far better than us at the time.

In the same period, Arse have sold, among others, Vermalen (Barca), Song (Barca), van Persie (Manure), Fibreglass (Barca), Nasri (City), Ade (City), Toure (City), Henry (Barca), Cole (Chelski) and Vieira (Juve).

Now I don't know my Arse history well enough to say all of these were in their prime, but there's certainly enough big name players there to manufacture a "Wenger regularly sells his best players" story. If you want to.

Funny how some "truths" gain momentum and others don't.
