Reminds me of that Maradona warm up
Looked at the start of that and thought "fudge me you boys are easily impressed. Even I could do that." Then my jaw droped.

Another player who left to win things and actually won things.
Modric
Bale
Eriksen
Walker
Berbatov
Has there been a key player that has left us and not gone on to win things at other clubs? (Players we wanted to keep).

Him and his mates whilst at Spurs had numerous opportunities in SF's and Finals to win but pretty much bottled it everytimeBeing trophyless at Spurs is temporary, class is permanent…
He would walk into our side, we really miss him.
lads, behave. Did you read what we bid for Fernandes? Conditional on winning the league and Champs League. fudge me, that was classic Champ Manager 97/98 when you bid £100m for Ronaldo and the algorithm was too basic and only considered total offer.
Serious question, apart from Ndombele who was relatively less established than say, Fernandes etc, when have we gone big on a transfer?
Arsenal buying Aubameyang for example?
United buying Fernandes?
We don't do that. Levy doesn't do that.
When we have the chance to go for Mane, we go for N'Jie.

Son?
Bale return?
oh we've bought quality don't get me wrong. But rarely have we gone for a big name key signing that is head and shoulders going to improve your team.
I'm talking a marquee signing, someone who's already a top player in their position that will effectively elevate the squad immediately. Like i said, Ozil, Aubameyang, Mahrez, Pulisic, Bruno Fernandes, one of those.
We've signed well, but never someone as a marquee signing. Maybe Rafa VDV? and that was what, 10 years ago?
Ozil was a panic buy and wasn't really needed by Arsenal at the time.
Mahrez? Really? Did you know who he was before he came to Leicester? And do you think he was seen as Marquee by Pep rather than an expensive semi-luxury inside-foward?
Pulisic? Really? Marquee??
Bruno Fernandes? Good player who we wee also in for at a time. But marquee??
I suspect he wins and loses at pretty much the same ratio as the person in charge of transfers at every other PL club.@Diamond Lights You highlight the Danny Rose case but how often have we marvelled at the fee Levy has extracted from other clubs for journeymen? You win some, you lose some, but odds on DL wins way more than he loses.
It was definitely that way in the past but it does feel like he’s either lost his touch or player power is so much bigger now, where from the position we were sitting they don’t want to take a step down on prestige or wages.@Diamond Lights You highlight the Danny Rose case but how often have we marvelled at the fee Levy has extracted from other clubs for journeymen?
