Cheatski are still scum

Seeing as the prem are asking for a 12 point deduction for everton. Points deduction seems fair for chelsea. Even if it was done by previous owners.

There's the problem, being fair and consistent is not something football administrators understand. Jump all over smaller teams but keep it nice and cosy at the top.

We're talking about the prem not uefa. The prem is run by the 20 clubs. Each has an equal vote and say.

I wish you all good luck in your belief that they will do the right thing.

It isn't about doing the right thing. It's about self interest. The teams at the bottom will want everton punished as it might save them from relegation. The teams at the top will want city punished as it might mean they have a better chance of winning the league or getting cl. Chelsea floats between the 2 at the moment.

There is a reason that the prem are recommending everton get a 12 point deduction.

Whatever way you look at it i don't believe they will reach a fair decision.

Willian transfer, you say?

We have to be fair and honest about it though - our track record isn't great. Swindon were denied their promotion to the Premier in the early 90s and actually relegated another division for financial irregularities (albeit the relegation was overturned on appeal). A few years later, we were proven to be acting like a bank for our players and got away with a 12 point deduction (which was overturned), being chucked out of the FA Cup (which was also overturned) and a fine (which, from memory, went from 600k to 1.5m on appeal). We were lucky boys to stay in the Premier after that.

The World In Action programme on how we operated in the 80s is eye opening. It's on You Tube from memory.

I thought that some of those penalties were to be applied due to the way that we treated the intertoto cup? At least that’s my memory of it. But there was less coverage of it at the time due to being pre main internet days etc

Pretty sure it was down to financial irregularities solely. The Intertoto Cup didn't kick off under UEFA until 1995 and we got the above punishments prior to the 94-95 season. I know we got a lot of brick for fielding the stiffs in the Intertoto but don't recall being punished for it.

I expect that you’re right. It would make a lot more sense than my memory of it.

Along with Wimbledon we got a one season ban from European competitions, which was later scrapped. Not that it mattered much at the time.

I think it was about irregular payments to players we were signing, again I believe Alan Sugar had passed the information to the FA as they had been made by the previous ownership and also informed Inland Revenue.
