Cheatski are still scum

With the lack of Chelsea ground development now coming. Anyone know the estimates for how much our new ground could close the gap financially?

In other news let’s hope Abramovich sells Chelsea and then Stamford bridge to a property firm to recoup his investment. That would be hilarious!

He may sell but he won’t let it stagnate.
He maybe many things but he isn’t stupid, well by oligarchs standards anyway.
 
Sources close to Mr Abramovich told The Jerusalem Post yesterday that after being granted Israeli citizenship he no longer required a visa for short visits to Britain.

“He understands and respects that the UK are reviewing their processes, and has therefore chosen to withdraw [his visa request] until a new process is in place,” the source said.

So rather than answer questions about the source of his wealth, he has withdrawn the visa application. Probably not too surprising as he is on record in a court case admitting to dodgy payments for "protection".

Seems he has known about this for a while. He doesn't need to be resident as owner, but I wonder if he will buy a Cypriot passport.

However, it's probably not over. Politicians are beginning to havie their say ...

Lord Hain, the former Labour cabinet minister and a Chelsea fan for 53 years, blamed ministers yesterday for Mr Abramovich’s decision to pull out of the stadium project after the government failed to renew his visa.

“The government has been hamfistedly clumsy over his visa issue,” he told The Times. “The government objective should have been to aim at Vladimir Putin, not for Chelsea to suffer collateral damage.”

The future of wealthy Russians in the UK came under scrutiny after the Salisbury poisoning in March, when Amber Rudd, then the home secretary, announced that she had asked officials to view the basis on which they had been allowed to settle in the UK.

Theresa May later told MPs: “I think it is right that we look generally to see whether this is a part of our visa regime which is being used properly.”

Sir Peter Bottomley, a Conservative MP who is also a Chelsea fan, said yesterday he believed that Mr Abramovich was motivated to drop his stadium plans by commercial issues rather than the problem with his visa applications.

“If the stadium redevelopment requires the owner’s money rather than borrowing it from the banks, it’s understandable that he may not think this is the right time to say he’s committed to the investment in the UK,” he said.

Ian Mearns, the Labour chairman of the all-party parliamentary group for football supporters, said the move caused unwelcome uncertainty for Chelsea fans. “As a football fan, one wonders what this means for the long-term future of Chelsea and Abramovich’s tenure there,” he added.

Just look whats happened or gone on at Birmingham, Villa, West Brom

And Wolves are mainly doing well because of the suspect involvement of Mendes the super agent
 
It's pure fantasy to think Chelsea would collapse if he sells, they are now a world brand, any one buying them will want to protect their investment.
 
I'd agree with the view that it would be "pure fantasy to think Chelsea would collapse if he sells" (K.D.D.D.D.Soc), but the uncertainty will certainly have an impact on retention (notably Hazard) and recruitment (manager and players).

As ever Roman's toys are important, in or out of the pram.
 
However it goes, it’s been worth it, they never would gave become the force they were without Roman and Jose, it’s been by far the greatest period in Chelsea’s history.
